Have you seen any intelectual soul among muslims in India, if at all there are some, these fools will not count him or her among their owns.
Muslim quome is by root misguided by their mullahs who have frozen their capability to think rationally.
I pity those educated muslim youngsters who can not pull out their comunity out of these rut.

I am ready to accept what you say. My only condition: Be Just. If you really think Islam is no good then I would need to ask you the grounds on which u make this statement. Islam is not what Jehadis do by killing innocent people nor is it what some ignorant mullahs preach, thanks to the media. If media is really bothered why doesn't it ask what Islam is to some responsible leaders like Muslim personal law board or educated scholars. They go to mullahs who are love camera and speak with half baked knowledge. Islam aint their property to speak whatever they want. You got to read Quran and try to understand it without prejudice. dont just get fooled by the quotes from the Quran that people paste here. they are either quoted out of context or manipulated to suit the authors point. If you believe them you are just doing the same mistake what some illiterate muslims are doing by listening to mullahs with half baked knowledge or they read the Quranic Ayats(verses) out of context.
If they misunderstand Quran and do some thing which dangers humanity then it is the person who is at fault not islam. If some one is given with a powerful bike and he doesnt know how to drive it then it is his fault not the manufacturer's.

Mr Azhar, My heart felt a few tons lighter after I read your write up. I wish all muslims read this. I am sure no religion encourages violence. Only the practioners of religion misinterpret for their personal interest. In Islam which stipulates strict religious practices, it is easy for a few bigoted people to misguide the mass at large. Sad thing is no muslim scholars come out against extremism and killing of innocent people.
Muslim youth are indoctrinated easily with half truths. This must change. People like you must write regularly in these types of forums. It will definitely make a difference. Never mind, all these hate messages flying thick and fast from both community members are without knowing much about their own religion, forget about other religions

Freedom comes with responsibility
by Azhar on Dec 21, 2007 02:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I agree that every one has freedom of expression. but that freedom should be used to unite people not divide. If she continues this way she would also have to flee just as MF Hussain did. There is no place for extremists in India.

This is the most rational comment by any muslim so far on this board. I like to see more ppl like you in your community to bring the change of mindset. Keeping the religion aside, we are all fellow countrymen afterall, living and breathing on the same land. We can prosper together with liberal ideas than being radical.

BLOT ON INDIAS SECULAR TRADITIONS
by Krish Koundy on Dec 21, 2007 01:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MIM MLAS who attacked Taslima in Hyderabad and Fundamental elements that threatened to kill Taslima are roaming freely, while Taslima has to remain in House arrest!

Any one who watched NDTV Conversation with Taslima can make out that the UPA Government is desperate to push her out of the country. The government tells her that she cant live in Kolkata, she cant go there even to get her things back, she can stay in Delhi but should not meet any one and shouldnt meet the media! Why? If security is the concern, why not Sonia Gandhi, LK Advani and the PM should stay home, shouldnt move around with black cat commandos.
Is Indian Government so week that it has to keep a writer in the solitary confinement for the fear of some anti social elements. Is there any instance where any political party any where in the world stooped so low for vote bank appeasement?

I know a lot of Bangladesh friends who envy and also adore Indias progressive & secular image. But, Im sure they feel totally let down as much we do. UPA Government has reduce India to the level of Bangladesh, Pakisthan and Talibans today.

It is most shameful event, a stigma on the countries secular credentials!
