Hi Mentor,
Have you read the works of Salman Rushdie or Taslima?
A Palistani gentleman who live opposite our house on his vist to the West, gave me a copy. He said that he could not take it to Pakistan for the fear of being lynched. When I asked him what it was all about, he said that he did not find anything objectionable and people had hayped it and it helped sell Salman's book.
Do not go by what others say, read the books before commenting.

and what, pray tell, does this have to do with Taslima being told not to return to Kolkata; did we humble mortals miss your point?

Here comes MF Hussain
by talk cool on Dec 21, 2007 12:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When ever there is a topic on Taslima...our Indian Media try to deleberately bring MF ussain topic.
This is a clever strategy to show Hindus are also bad. Also to balance the Taslima issue with MF Hussain so Hindus cant blame Muslims vehementantly

You mean to say there is a 'bada sajish' ?
Yaar, Hussain is kicked by Hindu fundamentalists not by general public. But Taslima is being tortured by A to Z bearded Mullahs. Luckyly muslim women like her or else story would have been more violent.

However, even if the media brings MF Hussain into the fray...the issue still remains. If Hussain thinks he is portraying purity of the art by painting our mother Saraswati in the nude, why does he not balance it off by painting his own Muslim mother or sister in the nude? Let us see his mother and sister as models in the barest and purest form to be sold to the public....

Where as every body knows that MF Hussain has not been thrown out. He chose to enjoy good life in Europe where his paintings fetch more money than in India. He comes back to India at his will, makes funny pictures like Gajagamini, etc.
Indians know that MF Hussain is in love with Hindu culture and it stimulates his creativity. He draws nude paints of goddesses out of his fascination for them, but not to hurt any bodys sensitivities.

Some misguided right wing cadre has vandalized his paintings, but there is no physical threat to him.

TASLIMA ISSUE HAS NO COMPARISON WITH MF HUSSAIN

Are you on drugs? Do Muslims and Christians beleive in secularism? Muslims want an Islamic state and Christian terrorists are fightin in Nagaland to get it declared a Christian state.

if u have read some more history..u would know that it is against Indian culture to deny enttry to guests.
I am not limiting to individuals but even when people come with lot of culture backgrounds we accepted them.
Christianity came to Kerala much before it came through British (syrian Christians are examples)
Parsis came long time..we accepted.
Jews came when their temples were distroyed by Romans..we accepted.
Islam came we accepted.

Now suddenly if we deny her then it is overtunng our 5000 year history

First of all the Muslims were responsible for ethnic cleasing of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir in the name of Islam. Nagaland and Manipur drove out minority Hindus from their land in the name of Christianity. South has a Dalit majority where Brahmins hardly get any jobs. So where is the secularism of the so called minority. But the secularism of hindus is portrayed by the above mentioned facts. The minorities have the guts to do all that and still be citizens and enjoy all the rights.
How is army gonna differentiate a terrorist from a common man in Kashmir. All are muslims. Do you think a terrorist goes around in a Bandana with Terrorist written on it and yet the army man kills the common man(not innocent ofcourse)? I don't know on what grounds and logic do you Porkis always talk about human right abuses when your kith and kin goes about throwing bombs and burning trains with women and children?

Okay Vikash, take it from Karunanidhi. Being a writer, Karunanidhi is a great fan of Taslima. Only problem is he can not invite her to Tamilnadu pulically.
And for your information, Taslima is right now in Tamilnadu Bhavan, Delhi.

Prakash I think you don't. Otherwise you would not have given a lecture on taking the book from Karunanidhi. An e-book will be a soft copy, like a PDF format, not the actual book. Don't give lectures in future, just answer the question if you can.
