It is a misconception that we have a far greater threat from China than any other country. The sheer logistic would not allow China to overwhelm India. Yes, they have an advantage over India in many sectors militarily, including the personnel strength. But it would be very difficult for them to sustain a prolonged war. A Navy or an Air Force alone, may not win you a War. The strength of their Navy or their Air Force would be grossly inadequate even for a short war anyway . And the inhospitable Tibet would not allow them to move their men and machine to the border, swiftly. And it is not a difficult task for the Indians. A dozen of missile would make a good Headlines, but that would not make the work, any thing worthwhile.
It is also true that India may not be able to penetrate far into the Chinese Tibet. So there will not be any misadventure from either countries.
The Real Threat will be from the US. Agreed, we may not win any war with the US. And we must make some effort so that we avoid any confrontation that may lead to an all-out war with the US. As is the case now, the chances of any war with the US is very remote now. But who knows!!!

Let me tell u a vey simpe fact.U are living in your dreams.China has enough logistics in place to overrun the whole of eastern india in a couple of days.As for India, the army is a limping and rusty and corrupt machine.Let me give you a simple fact.During operation parakram in 2002, more than 100 soldiers died in just mining the rajasthan border.NO enemy fire. Now imagine what will happen if an enemy ,that too China decides to have a go.God help us.
Slightly improve payload capacity of such missiles.Attach corrupt, misleading, politicians with this missile.Send them to interrupt enemy missiles.A win win situation for us.

No missile has been made by mankind to carry our politicians who are heavyweights in corruption. For last 60 years they are just eating our resources, just wonder how much each will weigh.

Actually Poolu in Tamil means penis. Am serious.
If vajpayee/advani was the prime minister, all BJP supporters would have gone gaga over the great governance and bold steps, but curiously no credit here(not that they deserve). similarly in akshardham or parliament, BJP govt not accused of anti-national, but curiously the present govt is.

China as George Fernandes said is our main threat Pakistan is nothing for us One week is more than enough But china is tough They are far advanced in military .Missiles ships etc.Sheer numbers,No western country will come to our help becoz trade will suffer Russia is angry with us Dont under estimate chinese They are in SL,Maldives,Myanmar,Pakistan having naval bases unless we are alert 1962 may occur
Your are right Pranam. But we have to be alert this time and we also need to make our base in Taiwan, Japan, Korea. This may possible if we allow to make base for US in India. US base in India is not harmful for India if we consider longterm benefits.

Sorry mr bingo Iam not as hopeful as u I feel only way is advance economically as fast as possiable involve pvt sector in defence R&D(bec govt does not pay well) and go for force multipliers on existing weapon systems and build good infra structure and do not allow Nepal to go communist List is endless
US will surely accept it becoz they are quite aware of Chinese treat for them. Even US is trying for same but India is not responding well. Indian politicians has lack of future vision.
Congrats to our scientist on devoloping it indigenously, needless of what others have.Im proud that we are making it on our own instead of borrowing it from others.

Hey rasvanthi, even the Moderator likes your message and has turned the Report Abuse button off. Never happens to me. Did you pay him?? We do not have to initiate war. The Paki Muslims will do as required by their religion

u are probably in IT, would you deploy a IT system at client site before testing it ? ( to see if it crashes so that u can later repair it ?)
RE:Why to waste missiles in testing
by rasvanthi on Dec 19, 2007 06:59 PM Permalink
In IT field, the client pays us for development, testing and deployment.. But is Pakistan paying us for all these Akash or Agni costs ?
RE:RE:Why to waste missiles in testing
by rasvanthi on Dec 19, 2007 07:02 PM Permalink
Moreover in IT field, deployment is a compulsory phase.. But here, can you give me the exact date of war ? How long do we need to waste all these resources while Indian citizens have to pay the taxes for all these defence budgets.,. Boss don't compare IT field with Pak war.
RE:Why to waste missiles in testing
by rasvanthi on Dec 19, 2007 07:09 PM Permalink
Then tell me exact date of war.. How long this development phase will go on ? And how long people of India pay taxes for all these billions of expenses on defence ? Unless there is a war, we don't know where we stand and how these missiles fare during actual production phase. All these testings within India are for self satisfaction that we have achieved something.
