Scrap democracy and make Modi the Supreme Commander. He will do much better than what democracy has given us in last 60 years. He will take good care of the Muslims, at least better than Congress.

Good suggestion!parliamentry democracy is a farce and what better proof is needed when we have our EX-PM deve Gowda around. That the system gave such an unscuplous fellow as our PM when he didnot even dream for it! Modi must be made the Executive President for eight years with a mandate to bring a common civil code,a national ID card, reform and de-link Police and Judiciary from political control, privatise all PSU units and Banks, acheave literacy of 100%,roads and infrastructure of world class to link all towns and villages, teach local language and English to all children.Confiscate all properties and illgotten waelth of politicians and beurocrats and their family members.Ban religious leaders from talking politics.Restrict family size to two children.Abolish polygamy.Encourage women to take up emplyment.Deal corruption at all levels with an Iron hand.Any one opposing this scheme should be stripped off Indian citizenship and asked to quit the country within 30 days or face execution by firing squad.Ask NRI to return to India or surrender Indian citizenship.Education should also build charector and clean habits in children.Scientific thinking, adventure, sports and cultural aspects should be encouraged.Tourism alone can earn us enough income.Maintain an Armed Force that is highly mobile with heavy punching power especially of missiles.Build a pacific fleet and station it close to Japan.Tell China not to take punga with us anymore.
Willy nilly our Indian political parties have religion under their skin. Hoarser they crow that they are secular, deeper we know they are religious bigots. For the Congress, "secular credential" means being closer to minorities, and their perenial appeasement. For them, Indian Muslim Leage is secular and not BJP. What a moral ambivalence! Kudos to the author.

You think Srinivasa Ramanujam, the mathematician, and A. K. Ramanujan, the writer and sociologist, are one and the same.
Happy that you are at least recommending a good book.

hey pepsi genie!! did someone let you out of a pepsi can? hilarious to see your have a pepsi msg appear everywhere...:o)
Yes. Indian have contextual morality. And it is logical. As all living beings change, the rules of co--ordination will change. Every thing changes in the nature. One food is not always good for health. The good or bad of a food changes according to the situation,So as the thought and Dharma. Actually it is our strength, not weakness. I agree that now a days politicians use it as their weapon. But I believe that the awareness and reaction of common people are maturing slowly and lead to the good of the country in coming years. Now we are facing a transition period which will end up soon. That is all. Any how thanks for a good article.

Rightly said. you said what I just wanted to say venugopal_kerala@rediffmail.com
agree with ur article to the point that narendra modi is our own creation. yes we have our own strngths and follies on which the nation is riding. but let us not compare ourselves to the west. west has never been moralistic, leave alone absolute. they are opportunistic and capitalistic. so keep the west out of the article and let us find out what can be done to put an end to such MODIs. inshort, how are we going to curb our hypocrisy. how are we going to justify the FUTURE and not the past. let us work on the present with as much application of morals as possible. cool...that u have dragged AK Ramanujam into this....but at the end of it..i am sure AKR would not even bother to comment on the WEST after seeing what is happening everywhere from the middle east to the indian borders or to the obliteration of the poeple in northern africa and what not.
let us keep such stalwarts away from such articles and not demean their value for a start.

Prakas R Puttar, why are you confusing others by taking my name ? Take a name like Other Prakas or Andhkar Prakas. For readers benefit, I use running 'p' and this other Prakash use capital'P'. He is a capitalist fellow.....
I agree mostly with what you said, in fact, its a great piece of article. One thing about Narendra Modi is that he is not behind the curtains. Any decisive action requires one to be out and loud with intentions. With all his wrong doings, he delivered one strong message.....Any caste, religion, community is welcome in this country, as a Indian, and not as anyone else. As for hindutva, its personal and unfortunately political agenda for him. But, IMHO, its a far cry better than politics played by regional and pseudo parties. He is a criminal of Godhra and yet, a moral for fearless politics. As the author put is as: "contextual morality"!
The tone and profound bullshittism in this passage makes it perfect for RC section of a CAT paper. A confused writer makes it difficult for the test takers to comprehend anything and thats what makes cracking CAT so tough
