"The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair". H.L. Mencken
Naxals are someone who was suffered in the hands of authoritarians, and have lost their others, wives & children to atrocities.
When ones wife is raped & killed, young children are murdered by corrupt people, anyone will turn radical. However, Naxals formed a group to fight these atrocities so that it doesn't happen to others.
Violence may not be justified but the situation pushed them into this and everyone is responsible for their state, from politicians to corrupt officials to you & me. Let's understand this.
Only way to resolve this issue is through dialogue and peace as violence, be it state-sponsored or naxals, only breeds more violence.
Finally, this is the truth - "Naxals can be killed but not the Naxalism itself". Only way to eliminate naxalism is to genuinely improve the living conditions of the poor, bring perpetrators to Justice and create true democracy.

you watch too many hindi movies don't you? Maybe some do get converted due to corrupt politicians and government. but a whole lot of these do it just for money. Easy money is whats killing our nation. I don't see naxals killing only the gov. officials? they loot, plunder.. rape and murder innocent people. If Gandhi would've turned violent...he'd probabaly be shot in the first place. To fight injustice and corruption.. you need patience and gandhi's willpower, not AK57's and home-made bombs and mines. Support the government. (we are the Government and no one else, don't forget its a democracy.. no one rules the country but us.. so if you call yourself corrupt.. you should be shot first by the naxals)
Isn't it too EASY to talk about Gandhi & non-violence, if it involves others? lol!
You don't have to answer me but put yourself in a situation that your family is killed, houses razed down & you are driven to desperateness or death, will you be smiling at your enemy?
Please know that 21 centuries of this world saw only one Gandhi, one MLK & one Mandela for world of more than 10 billion people. These people whom we are talking about are poor, without formal education who cannot have a legal fight. Their only hope of Justice is to fight back.
"Have you ever thought of their problem and raised your voice, as you do ALWAYS whenever they attack a post???" Criticizing is easy but to understand their problem isn't.
You guys are hypocrites - talk about all ideologies but won't practice any!
Sameer's point are real. You take care of the poor and this problem is gone. Why invest 1000s of crores in fighting naxalism while this money invested in 10 districts if naxal region would have turned green. Think about it!

You make good points. Naxalites are result of expolitation of the poor. While some of them are anti socials, most need to be assured that society, government care for their needs. That is the only way to handle this problem.
bjp will fail if it doesnt resolve economic opertunity, only way to defeat naxals is to create more economic opertunity,do what ever to help people.do not make police and naxals enemy.

I agree, this is how naxalism started. But now it has grown into full blown terrorism. Naxals dont actually want development in their stronghold areas so as to retain control. They must learn one thing that they can not do any major harm to a huge country like india. Terrorists in Punjab and Kashmir have learn that. After some time, local politicians will not be able to protect them anylonger. Army will be called in and these bas...ds are no match for a trained army. I hope these days come soon.

Shame in BJP run state. They are busy preaching Ram and Hindu card. If you don't work for the rural people and literate them....entire India will be under maoist regimn. Relgion card does not work..it divides.

You're crazy. As if the state wanted these inmates to escape. What rubbish. You lefties are busy telling the state to pull its punches and to fight with one arm tied behind the back. I am an atheist, but I'll tell you to stop looking for every opportunity to attack Hindus and/or nationalists. You have no credibility.
Those police personnel guarding the jail must have received hefty amounts to blink their eyes for a few minutes. Overpowering is just a drama to pull a wool or two over the eyes of the general public. In front of a few bundles of Gandhis, our police will surrender everything

I doubt on SP based on his remarks. All the SP's first should be checked for Disproportionate Assets. The Most Corrupt in India is the Police System. The Police System is depening on the SPs. 95% of SPs are corrupt. They put cases on Innocents for bribe, they take the innocents into custody leaving the main culprits for bribe. When Locayukta raided on Police how they ran from their houses is seen in News. Our four pillars of India Give such Importance to SPs and they are the main culprits. For such a action of checking Disproportionate Assets do not put CBI who is again a major......... in this country. Let us have a specail Task force for this.

The state curruption leads to Red/blue or green curruption. It appears that our jails are manned by few Police personals. We need a sincere & stronge will power to curb this manace. No- appleasement.
