Why we need to have all these trails which will surely last for another 10 yrs and even if the lower courts convicts few of them...they will be released by supreme court....i lost my best friend in the blasts and have little hope of justice...!!!
A trial is important so it can be seen that the government is not randomly picking minorities (and Hindus as well incase of the 1993 blasts) off the street and killing them. The problem is the 15 people who are absconding, accused, almost certainly living in Pakistan. That is where we need to send them a message that we will get them no matter where they might hide. That is where we are a SOFT state. Learn from Israel. We cannot send troops across because we don't have blanket US support like they do. But we can definitely cause accidents to happen to those hiding in Pakistan.

Whats the point in carrying out these trials ? Syed Firdaus Ashraf, Sheela Bhatt and Vicky Nanjappa will keep glorifying the convicts (Not just accused), Electronic media will keep sepculating candidature for the accused for Assembly and Parliament elections, People like Majid Menon & Ram Jethmalani will flourish. Even if accused are convicted, Supereme court will grant them bail. Even if capital punishment is declared, The President of India may not have time to take a decision on Mercy petition of the convicts. Such convicts are high maintenance and are like LIVE bombs waiting to be exploded. Maqbool Butt was in Jail and for his "release" one innocent Indian official Ravindra Mhatre who was kidnapped and killed. Flight was hijacked for the successful release of Maulana Azhar Masood (Our Muslim brothers who generally get offended with Maulana, Alla and similar words used in Songs in Hindi Fimls, dont object to this terrorist being titled Maulana). Masterminds like Dawood will still be at large. His relative Javed Miandad will keep visiting India as commentator. Media which generaly carries sting operations even when the see dog peeing on car tyre, will not bother to carry out a sting operation against Javed. Do yu know why ? Because these terrorists are real smart ass. They never attack Media, or Judiciary. Till such stage dont expect anything to happen. The only hope is people like Modi, who will Stich in time.
then rediff would hae had 10 articles daily, ndtv would have had 24/7 coverage, tehelka would have done 20 sting operations, NGOs like 'hypocrties for justice and peace' (headed by teesta setalvad) would have taken out umpteen morchas, and the likes of javed akhtar would have wrote new lyrics!
these bunch of humanity killer 15 lakhs people in 1947, now thousands of people killed in j &k bombay,,they shouldbe made liable to pay to rest of families of victim, for whole life,,it is shame that govt of india have become very weak, politician are begger of votes and 1947 is still repeating for nothing,,,we gave 30%land to muslim and still problems remained the same,,,,,
wat is the point in carrying out such trials which go no where..Indian govt cannot act against terrorist bcoz they have to appease muslims..so why waste taxpayer's money..leaders wet their pants when it comes to deciding whether to hang afzal guru or not...
