It was year 1947 when all of you (Sind,NWFP,Balochistan) were manuplated & thrown to wolves (Napak establishment).Since then these blood thirsty hounds had exploited & oppressed you. Now you all oppressed nations including sirakis, kashmiris(POK) , balwaristanis rise & fight for freedom.
Yes this cycle will continue, unless they give up hatred for India. Unless they give up hatred for Hindus unless they give up their agenda of bleeding India unless they give up their hidden war against us , Pakistan will continue to slide down further till it meets its own death.

Be remembered. Al ready your @ss got kicked 4 times with India. Dont you remember the mass surrender of 93,000 "martyrs" of Porkistan to India in Bangladesh partition....? If not, go and check the history. Bending to almighty 5 times a day is to purify the soul. But you bend for killing innocents in the name of religion. No end for your hatred.
harold's generic and systemis analysis of the recurring problems ridding pakistan is really illuminating...but there is a feeling that his portrayal of US engagement of pakistan as the saviour of democracy is a bit fishy... the alternative arrangement and the ray of hope the author is showing in the form of the mettle being thrust into the hands of the pak middle class with out any loss of time is also a too wishful thinking, which he himself agrees a daunting task... yet not impossible, and it is hightime the pak middle class must engage in the next round of independence, which must not be a deal to pacify a few,(like the last one was to Jinnah by the britishers),and as a fall out of some one else's struggles( like that of INC's) but a rightful one and one fought by themselves through a stuggle of their own...
now it would have been better had harold precribed some practices towards such ends... hope he succeeds in that endeauvors too...

IF three students from your school take to drug addiction, should the society start blaming your school that its existance is for encouraging narcotics ?
The problem is not with islam, but with select mullahs and army clad Militants who not only in Pakistan but elsewhere also have carefully nurtured 'innocent ignorant illiterates' so that they will be able to brainwash them with their doctored version of beliefs.
The young modern soceity in Pakistan is taking an objection to this and this is a good sign. Afterall 50years is a small period in history and we should belive things wil get better, also its our duty to our efforts to help alliviate this tension.
Do not ever try to be a Sage by pointing fingers, if there is a problem, you and I are part of it. The question is do you have a solution? If not just shut your mouth and go into oblivion.
Do not speard hatred and add to the complexity of the problem.

The essence of true democracy is its people. Adhering to age old culture i.e. traditionally soft, friendly and adjusting to circumstances as times change is essential in forming a stable country, wherein sane minds in majority reign. Thats democracy set firmly in. Unfortunately, dismemberment from its principal body and then reigning in rule under the law of religion is the downfall exhibited by the countries which have weak democracies with head strong dictatorial leaders. The twenty first century leaders have to evolve maturely looking at the pitfalls these religiously blinded democracies have led us into. People have to learn too. Exercise your votes to display what people power can do. Go and vote in huge numbers and see how democracy sets in. That%u2019s the secret.
Mr. Gould not a single islamic country if pro US. The US is taking liberties with Paksitan only because of Mian Musharraf. Democracy would start the demise of American hegemony in Pakistan.
US is hand in glove with Musharraf. Better for India - after all who wants loose muslim marauders in their neighbourhood.

Soyry Bhimsen, you have mistaken or not read this properly. Mr. Gould clear states ...
"What is even more tragic is that US diplomacy, which might have made a difference, instead acted as an enabler of authoritarianism by pursuing a militarised grand strategy almost exclusively fixated on short-term tactical results when what Pakistan has always needed if it is to avoid political self-destruction is comprehensive social reform."
Yes, Pakistan's political situation taday is as a result of victimisation at the hands of plently of ulterior motives and it was the common-man and democracy that lost out.
We wish for the sake of humanity and global peace, the third and last possible alternative mentioned by Mr. Gould will indeed happen.
Let everyone sing 'Hum honge kaamiyaab ...'

Orient,
I have read this article again and still come to the conclusion that there is no modicum of truth. These are at best author's views based on news item whereas the ground reality is different. Had the US wanted, it would have restored democracy within no time (as it did in Iraq). But read point no. 2 of the article which, the author is shying to mention, is the fail accompli of PAkistan.
Perhaps you have read the news that Pakistan has foiled an Al Qaeda attack on Musharraf. Seems that Mush is either a cat with nine lives (highly unlikely) or CIA is protecting him 24 hrs (most likely). To restore democracy, the US needs to just let the militants do their work without getting themselves dirty. But, again this is risky as Pakistan will go to militants forever, with no chance of US setting foot again.
Pak mentality still live in Islamic era(way of administration not religion)which world gave up in 1700 century.Pak will not be at peace.Revolution is education is required to change the mental set up.

Pakistan cannot prosper as it has already brought the religion in its social and administering the nation. Religion is such athing which should be entirely private and practised at home, but not to bring it to the limelight to make a mockery of it. Unless Pakistan do away with religion from the administration, it will fall in to the hands of fanatics, who in turn will increase the number of terrorists killing people in the name of "jihad" without attaining any objective..

While you continue to decipher "holy" subject line to fight islamic jihad...you will be considered a fanatic too...there is nothing holy fighting a jihad but a job we dont like but has to be carried out anyways....put holy out of justifying killings.
