Qutb-ud-din Aybak, one of his generals proclaimed himself Sultan of Delhi. In the 13th century, Shams ud din Iltumish (1211 - 1236), a former slave-warrior, established a Turkic kingdom in Delhi. The initial entry of Islam into South Asia came during the life time of Muhammad. Babar & Humayn had very short stint, they came in 14th century and by 17 century u had britishers. Akbar had a non-converted Hindu wife and jahangir was her son---dreams of 1000 yrs rule. All others who came before were only looters the main way of earning of muslims taught by prophet mohd. (PBUH). After Aurangjeb the country was so weak tha East India Co. readily took over. Even during Akbar - Shahjahan times it was hindu clan of Sawai Raja Jai Sing & Man Singh which controlled the army, people respected them because they gave up satanic religion. There have been Muslim Rulers and Muslim Invaders just like any other King or Empire. But to say that Islam was spread with a sword is a stretch. I have a few examples. 1. Egypt - Egypt has been under Muslim Rule for the last 1400 years. Even today, you can find 14 Million Christians in Egypt. If Islam was spead by force, where did these 14 Million (15% of Population)Coptic Christians come from ? Source: Wikipedia.com 2. Spain - Spain was ruled by the Muslims for 800 years before they were driven out. If Islam was spread by sword, do you think that in 800 years, there would be any Non-Muslim in Spain ? 3. India - India was ruled by the Muslims for over 1000 years. But when the greater India was partitioned in 1947, 25% became Pakistan and 75% is what is India today. Think about it, if Islam was spread by sword, don't you think that in a 1000 years there would be more than 25% Muslims ? 4. Indonesia - Indonesia is the most populous Muslim Country. Which Islamic Army marched unto the shores of Indonesia ? 5. Nigeria - Islam is one of the 3 prominent religions in Nigeria. Which Muslim Army marched into Nigeria to spread Islam. Christains wereallowed to live in muslim area only because they were people of the book,who could get their neck saved by paying a polling tax called jajiya. Islam is spread by sword is not the allegation.MUslim rulers have themself noted with full glee how they forced hindus to convert.Even hindus have written how barbarious were muslims,even christains have written how they got the converts.That's why Pope quated it. You do not want to beleive even the internal evidence,nor the external one.Tell us did your frefather read Quran and hadits in arabic had a debate and than converted.You guys are lieing to your self about your forefathers conversion.
