100% right. add to it corruption/ high level power/ business houses/ bigtime money/ bigtime crooks as accepted part of society/ thin line between high criminals or businessmen or politicians etc etc. people aceept it as a part of life, that its inevvitable! thanx to saas bahu soaps making it even more acceptable. we have a poisoned cultre, wrecking a city like delhi even more than any other place in india
Western Influence - those unwanted equalities [all the good Western qualities like civic sense, courtesy, professional behaviour are not imitated] , Cinema Influence, Gaudy show of wealth by Rich parents, Adverse Internet , mobile exposure, Disregard for our Cultural values [Who is Ram asks the TN CM?....Ram , true or not, stands for the highest values of tolerance, virtues etc] - all these are responsible for Abishek's death........ Only Fear is there must not be more such Abhisheks ....We were stunned to read this article. Parents WAKE up...and know where and what your child is Doing Now!
Give your Child Cultural values - which is MORE valuable than Funky phones,Fat pocket money, Movie CDS and other Extravagant gadgets.

You give too little credit to conscious decisions. THAT is a western influence, to blame everything on circumstances. Do you mean to say that before movies, no one used to shoot anyone? Teenagers, in an argument with access to weapons and not enough sense, thats all there is, no rich/poor religion, culture or anything else to read into.
Its high time for the schools to know what is the most important thing to teach in a school. Yeah students need to score good marks but not at the cost of their character. And for parents who think just money can bring all happiness in home, this should be a good example. I still doubt what % of parents in India know what their son/daughter does for the whole day.
IN my views if we do not teach our children about the social responsibilities the situation would become deteriotaing day by day.We are becoming neglegent towards society we live in.All humans are brothers and sisters.Unless and until we adopt brotherhood outside our home,we would not able to stop these henious crimes.
School shoot outs are common in USA. It is really shocking to hear such news in India. This is a lesson for all parents.
We will hear more such news from India as India move closer to adopt Western life style. Families in India feel that having more money will resolve many problems. This forces both Mom and Dad to work. They spend more time on work, commute and less time with kids. Such home is filled with all modern electronic gadgets, Toys, servant maids but no LOVE. This create lots of physiological pressure on the kids.
Working Mothers in Cities please spend more time with your kids, Shower Love and teach them good habits. Teach them how to handle failures. It is better to be a house wife rather than running behind Money. Remember "Saving is better than Earning".
A Working Wife brings in Tangible benefits. A House Wife brings in-Tangible benefits.
I am sure that many guys in this forum may not agree with my thoughts.

ha haa ... knowing that people will disagree, and yet commenting, is generally known as trolling. That's all you are. Can you please present some data about causative relations between working mothers and teenage violence? To take an educated guess, these kid's parents were property dealers, and typically they come from conservative, probably joint business families. The chances of their mothers working are extremely slim. Don't twist a news item around to suit your own agenda. Typically working mothers come from middle class households and they typically pay a lot more attention to their kids and more value on education. Don't go theorizing around without a base!
India is sitting on a time bomb due to no restrictions on media and films. This is the impact which we are poruing to our kids form day one. The movies which are made in india teaches how to kill, rob become thief, illicit affair, irrespect to elders and so on. if we are feeding this to our kids on daily baisis the resulta are evident. The childrend will surely do the samw what it is shown in the films. Censon board of india has to very strict and stringent before passing the films. sex, nudity, murder adn so on this should not be allowed in our films. Films should be constructive, patriotic, and should teach some thing.moral vlaue, resepct for other dignity. Now a days if your see an indian film it does not reflect indian essence, all westron culture, clothes, acts. where are we going is the Information and broadcasting misnisty sleeping ??? wake up before it is too late.

Yes of course, curtailing the fundamental freedoms is the best way to contain violence. Wear burkhas to reduce the incidence of rape. Reduce the number of vehicles to reduce road accidents. Excellent suggestion. Something gives you the right to decide what other people should see right? And somehow you have the right to define what is moral and what is immoral? Give the kids some credit, they have their own brains! You can go as far as to say that movies like Rang De Basanti and Bhagat Singh are motivating the terrorists in Kashmir to fight against the Indian army! Have some sense ... curtailing of information has never benefitted anyone. In conflicts and fights people have been crazy and egotistical through the ages. The kids had a fight, one had access to a gun and he used it. Crazy, but true.

Join RSS / VHP all ur problems will be solved.We will control the media and the people so ull not see any stupid articles any more.... We need a strong government which could solve all problems counter this islamic terrorism,kashmir problems and more important to stop this westernization of our Hindu culture. Ask any normal indian citizen if they know about bhagwan ram teaching or about ramayana or mahabharata im sure more than 50% doesnt about this facts or they are more inclined towards modernization, copying western cultures going around foreign countries ignoring our culture, traditions. Dear Mr.Mohammed, I agree with, this is a US culture and trend which is coming into India & making a full one generation of mannerless, mindless people.
On the other hand you have people who are making India proud in other sectors of International importance.
The media should also not sensationalise gun shootout's of US Schools..seeing this affects immature & stunted minds..like the two students who killed the other child.

Yes yes .... we are continuing tradition here. 500 years ago we copied western muslim culture and said women have to be inside, and went off on our old hindu tradition of open sexuality and reverence of sex as an instrument of new generation. 200 years ago, we accepted western victorian morality and suppressed information and opressed our own people and thought anything to do with sex or clothing was bad. Today we impress those "western" concepts we imbibed over the last 1000 years on our people and call it our own! That is a bit hilarious.
Though I have to agree with you, without the "westerners" we would have no idea on how to shoot to kill or be barbarians all around, we needed the americans to tell us.

this is not correct. our civilisation is much much older that any ones. when anyone says about western habits, it cant date back to more that 200 years. before that it was all those travellers coming to india and going back with Indian ideas. yes. what you says is correct about habits etc.. it is all for good. but lets stick on to the good ones..and not get the wrong ones which is not necessary.. Barbarians : We have become more of barbarians with the western influence... people who earlier thought athithi devo bhavah.. say question the visitor as to why he didnt call up and come!
The traditions which were being followed before are of utmost importance and needs to be used going forward... even thouth these can be given a modern blend.
It is mentioned that they are sons of property dealers! Son like his father! Father must have killed / looted people, his son is into it at the age of 16. Nothing to generalize though...
