Boy - When someone receives knighthood (from the King/Queen of Britain) then onwards he is mandatorily called SIR.

no need to show respect to such people by calling them SIr, let them do what they want. but not in our sites
Please forget the word "SIR". We don't use it any more. Knighthood, OBE, Rai-bahadur (!!), Baron, Baroness, Lord (Ha...Ha...), Queen Victoria are the terms used long before. They are not at all relevant now.

Sir ship is a British phenomena and India recognizes it to the hilt although these murderers left (or shall I say kicked out) India 60 years ago. O'dwyers picture should have stayed in the meusem with the right description as to his misdeeds to the Indians, Not only they have removed the picture but are also thinking of removing all traces of the massacre from jallian wall Bahg. It is a national heritage and should be preserved at all cost it is part of the Indian history. if not preserved it will also be lost like any other monument that has been destroyed and wiped off with no reference to them found any where. We owe all that to our future generations.Removing all these items may help the organizers for getting a soft hearted welcome from British but the people of India can not be bought by such acts. the hatred for British is there and always be there. For more on O'dwyer read article on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_O'Dwyer
first of all dont call such people with SIr in INDIAN message board. it is abusing our freedom fighters.
By removing his photo, he can be forgotten. they must had made some bronze statue of this man at the entrace and start a new ritual of slapping on the face of him with chappals before entering the museum to pay respect to the freedom fighters.

GN - this guy had received knighthood from the queen of britain - which is why he is being called SIR. Even now we have Sir Swaraj Paul, Sir L N Mittal etc. Knighted people are no longer referred to as Mr., but Sir. It's a british royal decoration.

I do understand that theory Mr.Biswajit. My agony is why to pay respect to such people who are responsible for killing our freedom fighters. They must be humilated giving a lesson for the generations to follow.

Humilation of such devil minded people must be a lesson for the generations to come
The article writer has the AUDACITY to address such a blasphemous person responsible for the death of thousands innocents as "SIR". I think he SHOULD be hanged for treason first! He is a BIGGER traitor!

It is not the writers opinion or adulation in calling him SIR! Mike o'Dyer was Knighted by British Crown and was addressed so. Here it was mentioned for accurate reference purpose it was purely non-aulatory!

'Sir' is a title awarded by the British government to individuals. The poor writer has nothing to do with it ! Get a life ! incidentally, Indians are clamouring to go and live in the UK, and punjabis are in the forefront, going to the lengths of selling their lands to go to 'Landhan'
