HATE MODI IS MEDIA COMPAIGN
by MANJU BHATNAGAR on Dec 07, 2007 11:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If some one is to be blamed for communal divide, it is media including Rediff. In the various so called interviews on TV reality shows, I find leading questions are asked to get response against Narendra Modi & highlighting him as anti-muslim. Media is not showing the great qulitis of Modi, his vision, his contribution to the people of Gujrat including muslims.
Irresponsible behaviour of media may cause communal tension and create unrest. Election commision should take note of such compaign and take action against erring media including print meadia.

Majority, minority, democracy - no clarity
by Emperor Ashoka on Dec 07, 2007 11:13 AM  Permalink

A majority of our political parties like Congress, CPM, CPI, TDP, DMK, SP, JD etc. get away by placating and appeasing minorities and never come under the EC scanner. BJP is reduced to a minority in this scenario, being perhaps the only party trying to placate or play to the emotions of the majority community.

Even when the majority political thrust is on secularism, the very talk of secularism in an election campaign serves to open wounds and fan the fires of fundamentalism. Those who can think of this aspect are sadly in minority.

Majority of the citizens of this country are privately religious and publicly secular. Only a minority of the national population can appreciate that secularism doesn't mean degrading any religion - be it majority or minority. Karunanidhi and Buddhadeb can freely denigrate Ram, the hero of majority, because ours is a democracy. But a Taslima or Salman Rushdie cannot write against their own religion because the minorities apparently do not believe in democracy.

Congress professes to champion the cause of minorities but in over 40 years' of rule at the centre, it never thought of having a Muslim PM. It is perhaps because a majority of congressmen are blind supporters of miniscule minority rule called family or dynastic rule.

At the end of it all, the common man who is more concerned with roti, kapta aur makaan who is actually majority in number is left in the minority in terms of vote power.

Long live democracy, Indian style!

Gujarat -elections
by SK R on Dec 07, 2007 11:11 AM  Permalink

Mr. Narendra Modi has displayed the true spirit behind taking his state Gujarat forward without any assistance. He is a down-to-Earth politician who knows that if you are honest and committed you can change the pattern of votes and also the people's faith in Politics. He does not need Mr. Rajnath Singh, Mr LK Advani, ex PM Mr. Bajpayee or Mr. Arun Jaitley. He needs our support and our trust in his clean administration. The key to success is be truthful and honest in your pursuit of your goal.

Congress will never fight against communalism, only Left can do the job well. It can only possible when people will give support in a good level. Election Commission must took the right step; do not leave them as UP Communal CD.

Pity!
by srikanth hegde on Dec 07, 2007 11:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I really feel pity for those Gujarathis, who are currently under the magic spell of a chief minister, who has the least decency and civic manners. I also really feel that Modi is using the mob psychology to use hindu majority to win the election. How come the so called enterprising and corporate Gujarathis have this wretched mob mentality? Secondly, I request all Gujarathis to think about yourself, your heritage and culture before voting for a man and a party, who think only on communal lines.

Hello Mr.Kannada you are talking about a man who has been elected as CM for Ten years. And you are talking about Gujaratis.First look into a mirror the state of politics in your state. With Gowda and his Goonda sons whom you have elected. And in what way do you say Modi has no CIVIC manners. Can you give any examples.

Mr. Hegde,
I feel pity for those who run after Italian Kettly, Sonia with high hopes inspite of the fact, that we were ruled by British for almost 150 years, who were here only for doing business. When we will wake up for our country. When we will be called proud Indians following our own culture and heritages.
God save us all from these sick people. GOD BLESS US WITH MANY MORE MODIS TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY FROM PSEUDOS.

Mr. Hegde,
First check out where from the GSB's originally came from and why did they move so far into the south from their original homeland, then start commenting on gujarathi's i know you are not a GSB but then imagine their fate, they have been literally pushed from the northwest frontier of india to so deep in coastal karnataka because of their decency and civic manners. It is entirely this history which is in the collective memory of the gujarath people that makes them vote they do and neither you nor i have any right to comment on their voting pattern.
