we desparately need a leader...
by Kumar on Dec 08, 2007 04:25 AM  Permalink

we indians are like dogs..we bark at each other...but when in foreign land we wags our tails and be a good slave to foreigners..we consider ourselves proud when we hang out with non-indians..we take fellow indians for granted..

all these will change only by reforming educational system, reducing the population and every indian must vote..we desparately need a leader who can cut across boundaries and languages..

Aryan Inavsion - The ridiculous division of India into Aryans and Dravidians by the Indian Historians!!
by ashish k on Dec 08, 2007 03:23 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This crappy theory initially pepetrated by the 18/19th century european Indologists - and later delighfully borrowed by the Indian communist historians like Romailla Thapar and inserted into every Indian textbook - has been junked.

From 1990s satellite mappings of river Sarawati to various studies on Star positions, many scietific developments have proven it a myth. Many points are addressed e.g. Origins of Tamil language, darker skins of south India.

Read papers and books from Dr. David Frawley, Founder for American Institute of Vedic studies - vedanet.com

There is no such thing as Aryan and Dravidian - Its time DMK and Karunanidhi are brought into the Indian fold by scrapping this artifical divide.

To make any change to erase this myth will be met with stiff resistance by -

Indian historians
Largely Indian academia
Indian journalists
Commies
Karunas/DMKs...

Bull's Eye
by Suraj Shankla on Dec 08, 2007 02:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hi Raja, yes you have hit the bull's eye. What is Indian about Suneeta Williams....nothing, zilch. I have recently come to US and out here I realize that "we the Indians" would pass a smile to passing American and at same time would hardly even bother to say "Hello" to my fellow Indian. It is actually shocking to be discriminated more against by my fellow countrymen. And what underlines our callousness towards our own countrymen is "Saala Desi hoga," a very common phrase that you would hear everytime somebody commits a mistake on road. We behave so well here, look out for dustbins to throw waste, say Sorry to fellow americans and give a damn to fellow Indians.

Somebody just said in a comment right below: "Education." Hmmm....

Dwelving on it a bit more...
by Gowri Shankar on Dec 08, 2007 01:57 AM  Permalink

Hi Raja, I understand your point of view, but again I would suggest that before you ignore the indians' affinity towards NRIs and people of indian origin, lets us try to understand why.

1) India does not have successful, charming personalities. Even those who were there are being shut down.
2) Abdul Kalam was a great person. But now he is almost forgotten. Anita Desai has been a great person but I do not like all the media bullshit that is happening around her now

3) NRIs or People of Indian Origin who are successful abroad atleast present us with some kind of inspiration.

4) And lastly, when we talk about malaysia, most of the folks who are affected are Tamils and they are also economically backward. That is why there is lots of sympathy towards them.

I am not sure what will change all this. But as you say, things need to be changed NOW.
