RE:MALAY>>>>>ASIANS....ORIGIN ????
by Manjula A on Dec 19, 2007 01:01 PM  Permalink
Malays (Malay: Melayu) are an ethnic group of Austronesian peoples predominantly inhabiting the Malay Peninsula and parts of Sumatra and Borneo. The Malay ethnic group is distinct from the concept of a Malay race, which encompasses a wider group of people, including most of Indonesia and the Philippines. The Malay language is a member of the Austronesian family of languages.
The Malay people are believed to have originated in Borneo and then expanded outwards into Sumatra and later into the Malay
Peninsula. These people were descendants of Austronesian-speakers who migrated from the Philippines and originally from Taiwan. The main foundation of this school of thought lies in the fact that the oldest Malay settlements have been discovered in Sumatra and not in the Malay Peninsula. This suggests an upward - south to north - migratory route. Malay culture reached its golden age during Srivijayan times. Malays praticed Buddhism, Hinduism, and their native Animism before converting to Islam in the 15th century.

Home for Hindus
by Khandu Patel on Dec 09, 2007 06:28 AM  Permalink

I fully register what the writer says about Hindus going over the top in recognition of people of Indian origin that have lost all real connection with India. This is tantamount to the country running a circus and I agree entirely on that point. Where I disagree is that especially in America ethnic identity is allowed to live on in the larger American identity. Bobby Jindal's rise to power happened in the bible belt only when he abandonded his Hindu religion for Christianity. This would have had to be a genuine and convincing conversion. Hindu rites practiced in his name is rather odd. With these exceptions, there is no other people like the Hindus who have preferred to keep their ethnicity even after many generations and indeed hundred of years. That is certainly the case with the Malaysians Hindus. That in my mind entitles them in my mind home to a hope in Bharat. It is right that as people living abroad Hindus should not live in backward looking enclaves, and indeed that is a fair comment. A representative of the Hindu community in the Malaysian government is complaining of the plight of Hindus in Malaysia. The writer's arguement would require such Hindus to be converted to Islam which is the only thing that would satisfy the Malaysian government, the majority religion of Malaysia. The People of Indian Origin card recognises their rights as Indians, and it behoves any government of India to ignore their plight.

because belief does not require proof. you can believe what ever u want. you believe only if u don't know some thing for sure. see, if we accept that "i don't know", lot of things will be cleared up. the problem is belief. we don't know, yet we think it is.

U are 100% correct

Giridhar Reddi has showed true colors, I know why he wrote -ve about the author because you are Gulti, and I know Gulti's never go with Tamils.....
That is what have been my past experience in USA.
If one Gulti sees another Gulti then Telugu will be there, even if the 3rd guy is Hindi speaking they do not care. My author friend that is 100% true that Tamil Brahmins do not get any thing in Tamil Naidu that is why they had to migrate from TN, but this thing helped you because as per my experience you guys are most educated and smart Indians. Gulti's are next to you in mugging, even Keralites are also sharp guys.
The only way to come out of this catch 22 situation is to remove caste system, and also the language barrier. So i ask you a question are you ready to stop speaking Tamil and pledge to speak hindi only..... if yes then believe me all the Indians can be integrated using one language for the country and ZERO caste system.

we gutlis defend our nation and culture as fiercely as any other state guy.

wow! sanjeev buddy, you got me wrong. my name seems to have provoked you! I don't get into that gulti vs XXXX and
it is silly to take them with such a seriousness.
I am simply commenting on the author's assertion that Indian youth are wrong in adoring sunitha.

His argument against it just because people in some other country doesn't do that exactly the way we do does't stand ground.
They have that Indianess in part in them. It should be appreiative of how the indian youth were able to connect with that
Indianess in somebody living in a different country. After all Indian youth is increasingly looking for
more positive influences to make themselves better and have a better future. They adore Sania Mirza and Dhoni equally.

If Bill Clinton walks down the street in Chennai or Hyd, people will run upto him and shake hands. There is nothing sheepiness in it.
They are adoring a leader in him.

I have no comment on Aryan vs Dravidian politics, except to say that WHY THE HELL ARE WE STILL BELIEVING THIS FLAT EARTH THEORY!!!

Go little deeper!!
by Giridhar Reddi on Dec 08, 2007 10:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The authors analysis is little elite and childish in discussing the core and context of Indianess that he is referring to!! It is not that difficult to see why Indians want to adore success. Have to see it in the context of changing that's sweeping India!!
