I can understand the examples given for bobby jindal and sunita williams.
but i disagree with malaysian aspect of this article, if your accident would have happened in my hometown chandigarh lots of people would have come for help as i have seen accidents happen and have helped such people too.
I is unfair tocompare sonia gandhi's case with the issue of malaya people of indian ethinic origin being mistreated in malaysia.
Please note that thos epeople were taken by british to malaysia as slaves, they did not go to malaysia themseleves.
Your article is good to some extent but it's a totla BS in later part.

Agreed Mr Bhangu, they did not go to malaysia themselves, but were taken by british as slaves. but their living standards are anytime far better than a large portion of Indians. Pls ask them where they would like to migrate if evicted from Malaysia whether to India or any other commonwealth countries. you will be shocked to know that majority of them will prefer to go to Australia or Newzealand and certainly not India. Do you know which country our Srilankan tamils (for whom our Karunanidhi says his heart bleeds) opted for some years back- not india but Australia and UK. So much for the love and attachment to mother India.
Let the Karunanidhis and our indian government bleed and show their concern for our bpl villagers, marginalised tribals, dalits and hapless farmers who are driven to suicide in their thousands.
Very Good Analysis..it would be good if so called Literate people/users from Rediff Discussion Forum read this and learn or think something from this article, rathen than fighting north/south/east/west in India itself. I dont know how many will call themselves as Indians in first shot rather than bringing their caste/religion/region/state.

the things have improved a little recently, but, still if you get involved in dealing with any government agency, you will be really frustrated by the lack of concern and knowledge of procedures.

Equating Srilankan tamils to Malaysian tamils is plain wrong.
Srilankan tamils were not migrants, but just happened to live on the island. There is no reason why they should 'integrate' into Sinhala society. Oh, and I notice you seem to subtly blame the Srilankan tamils for all the problems in Sri Lanka. Anti-Tamil riots of '83 anyone? Derecognition of Tamil as an official language, anyone? The prohibition of tamils from taking the highest post in the land, anyone?
If you were to think a bit, and get rid of the terrible resentment you have, thanks to the DK/DMK/AIADMK's 'anti Brahmin' policies, you would be able to write a more objective piece. No I'm not Tam myself, nor am I a self-proclaimed Dravidian atheist, but Sir, I do plead with you to write something that is slightly more thought-out, makes slightly more sense, and is less dismissively offensive than the average messageboard rant.
sunita williams / bobby jindal have nothing to do with india. they were born and brought up outside india.sunitas husband is in US Air Force, bobby is now governor of a US state and his loyalties are with US. they come to india only for sightseeing. iam sure they don't even have a PIO card.
The malaysia issue should be a eye opener for karunanidhi, who just a month earlier had taunted hindus by making derogatory statements about lord Ram. today he wants indian govt. to intervene and help malaysian tamils , who incidently are fighting under the banner of 'Hindu Rights Forum' and not 'Tamil rights forum'.their struggle is to retain their hindu identity which they feel has been threatened after the destruction of a hindu temple. their tamil identity was not in danger. karunannidhi should apologise for insulting hindus if he wants non-tamilian hindus to help his brethen this time.
karunanidhi should first learn to accept bramhins who have been living peacefully in tamilnadu, without causing nuisance to anyone. they speak tamil these days,so they are now tamils. they have provided vast intellectual wealth for the nation.but in the last 6 decades of dravidian politics they became the punching bag.
