What a lot of Money!
by Humanvalue on Dec 05, 2007 11:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

TWELVE LAKHS!
What kind of a school can you build with that kind of money? Three mud hut classrooms and a brick principal's office with a cement roof.
Rs 12 lakh = $30,000.
And for this donation REDIFF puts in a headline.
What a joke!

Rediff's purpose of this headline is to belitle WB govt. It's not the amount of money that makes the headline.

This is BIG RED flag
by Vaibhav Pradhan on Dec 05, 2007 10:40 PM  Permalink

This is big red flag. What this guy is upto? Do we need communist revolution in India? NO WAY. He should better fund schools in his own country than in India. We don't need this money.

If american president has given such an amount to a school in kerala or bengal, these communists must have called for two days hartal, calling the schools people as spies of CIA .... Now they received the funding from comumunist friend ... so it is good....

Huge money some body away by 10000 miles. An average hartal in WB costs crores. And we report this in Rediff? As if somebody did something great. There are so many who are doing good in this country and our reporter here has only eyes on foreigners. Great. Keep it up.

Hugh Chavez -Seeking the Mantle Of Simon Bolivar and Che Guevarra
by D goel on Dec 05, 2007 07:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Pkl. Evening , 7.30 pm.,Dec5, 2007, Wednesday
Well without the inner contradictions and and conundrums of Indian Bhadralok Marxists of Chobees Pargana in partiular and province of W.Bengal and Kerala of India , one could empathize with global revolutionary like Chavez who assiduously seems to visualize himself after handicapped Fidel of Cuba to the Vacant Global Role of Universal Revolutionary likes of Simon Bolivar of Bolivia and Argentine Physician Che Guevarra of past several centuries.A sort of Global Trotsky of late Socialism, after capitualion of State capitalism of Soviets and its satellites in Europe and China. One wishes them good luck .
But can we really turn the tide of ethnic Global small States and Liberal democracies.
Civil Societies round the globe are on each other's throats.Say in Jerusalem the Israel
citizens , Muslim Palestinians as well moranite Christians.Has Chavez and his star-eyed Socialists any solutions for these agonising
quarrels...D,Goel

Why is it a news???
by mailme alladin on Dec 05, 2007 07:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I don't know why this is a big news! Is it a first time, a state govt got aid from overseas or a foreign community? Just because a communist govt of west bengal got it - you guys started shouting.

I saw lot of communism hatred posts saying communism has failed in this forum. I'll not have any objection if these posts come from Ammericans or French or Germans. But it's rediculous to see such posts from people belonging to India which has miserably failed in every front, inspite of the absence of communism.
Do you want to claim non-commie counties like India/Mexico/Brazil are more developed than communist countries like Russia, Poland or Czech republic or even China?

Remember people in India don't maintain living standard anywhere close to the people's of Eastern europian countries.

Socialism is a newer form of communisn. What China (or WB/Kerala) are following is even more modern communism. They have changed over the time. There is nothing wrong with that - every thing needs to change over time. The so called captalist countires are all not so purist - they too give lot of social protection to their people - they too protect their own companies when there is internation competetion.

The absence of communism or presence of capitalism doesn't ensure prosperrity.

These are two different ways of a nation to prosper. You need to follow it right way to succeed - it doesn't matter what you follow.

Mr. Alladin..

What is the definition of communism and tell us where is it being practiced now ??? The so called ''communist '' are more capitalist than the normal capitalist ( best eg. china). I would call these so called COMMUNISTS of these days as OPPORTUNISTS.
