so now you gonna teach me the right way ...why are you so much bothered about my religion and i dont have to answer all the stupid questions which are just ment to critisize me and my religion ......i would say first think and bother about your religion and ask questions to yourself about your own belief and religion then think about others ...

You need not read all the books. You just need to read the relavant books regarding which you need to know.
And I would say no need of reading any religeous book also. Just accept the 'Dalit' as your brother. Treat him equally. Then You would receive the wisdom of the world

Science can tell you if its going to rain or not. Dont rely of religious scriptures. I dont mean to hurt anyone but I believe that one should believe in science.

science hasnt been close enough to explain life dear. so its got its limitations . Dont be a slave to science . In fact the great scientists themselves pray to god . if you dont belive in a particular god then its ok. but your science has sent people to moon but cant understand the mind - science is only a study of things as it is and cant explain past or shape the future.
faith is everything if you dont believe this then try doing something you dont have faith in yourself to do and you will understand.

RE:Pakistan women to vote
by atheist on Dec 03, 2007 06:00 PM  Permalink
If they are denied voting rights they will be called severly opressed if they are encouraged to vote they will be called rubber stamps

well by that logic every muslim women living in free societies like US, Canada and Australia would have converted to other religions by now.
I dont doubt the ability of these govt to provide adequate security to people who convert out of Islam. But to be frank...people follow their religion...its the corrupt minds that look for dirt rather than good in others..

Its a good move by a conservative society to come out of the darkness and empower women. One should learn to appreciate

India Respect women

Cultural pressure to have a boy is leading some British women of Asian origin to travel to India for abortions to avoid having a girl.
Among them is Meena, whose name has been changed to protect her identity.

She describes what led her to do such a thing.

Reconstruction: 'Meena' went to India to abort her daughter

Full interview
"As soon as you're pregnant everyone sits there and looks at you and constantly says: 'you're going to have a boy. We'll do this and we'll do that and we'll have celebrations'," she said.

But when the child is actually born and it's a girl, everyone around you feels disappointed - they say: 'well, never mind'."

Meena, an office worker in her 30s, is from a middle-class Punjabi family and was born and brought up in the UK.

She has three daughters under 13. But says she has been made to feel a failure for not producing a son.

Meena says Indian culture can still exert a huge pressure on women to have boys - to carry the family name and because girls are expensive - and that the pressure exists on Indian women living in Britain too.

"It is all up to the husband and it's usually the husband's side of the family who - you know - are putting the pressure on."

Sex test

It is really not a nice feeling when you've had your baby and you are really proud of her and they turn around and dismiss her as just another mistake

So last year, when Meena became pregnant for the fourth time, she and her husband deci

QURAN TELLS
by Sanjay Joshi on Dec 03, 2007 05:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Scholars,
Dont talk just on voting system by women in Quran. Please educate them on every subject of their choice and made them to read quran and respect its true value. On one side when Mrs.Taslima Nasreen highlight the plight of Muslim women in your society, we have seen how your people treated her being she is Muslim. As the perecentage of education is very less in your society all the people in society were guided by you scholars and Mullahs in the name of Quran. As far I, know religion only guide a human being for his living stanadards. How he or she is useful to the society. Dont talk all the things in the name of QURAN. If I am wrong I am sorry. Clarify me.

RE:QURAN TELLS
by play on Dec 03, 2007 06:05 PM  Permalink
Yes you are wrong Sanjay Joshi,The information or knowledge you have about the Quran and the Sunnah is something which is very very low and ambigeous. You know many things which the media highlights out of proportion. I urge you to understand the Quran and its meaning just by purchasing the Translation from any book store. I recomend you to purchase te Translation of the Quran By Yusuf Ali which is one the best Translations done in english.

Many of the non muslims as i know are ignorant about the Quran and the relgion of Islam itself. Its always better to learn something more about Islam than just criticise it. I largley blame the media for the false version and mis interpretation of Islam which is the main reason for such a big mis understanding about the Quran today. Taslima has written lots of things which is goeing abainst the Quran and the Sunnah. Imagine if somebody writes negative about Rama and Sita or Krishna how it would be for a hindu? Taslima has done nothing but Blashpahmy. If you ever criticize the jews and its scriptures it is always considered Anti Semtic in the media. If anybody criticizes islam and its teachings it is considered Liberation. This is the difference bewteen the media. Always one sided.

Quran do not guide the human beings for its living standards, but Quran is the Refrence Manual of the Human being about his life on earth and about following the true path, and worship Allah (The Almighty God) and he is the one worthy of any worship.

Mr.Play,
You have diverted yourself from my question which comes out of my context written above.
I am just asking about the plight of women (regarding personal Law) like Talaq and Maintainance to divorced women. Another point is criminal justice system followed by you.

As long as someone claims frachise on god , this is bound to happen. One has to just read the holy book and practice it without getting any brainwashing by the intermediates
