I think PM is a great man to give out mesmerizing speeches. We lack implementation is every sphere.
But go to the South parts of India there are 10000s of temples as old at 2000years as well and all are in dismal conditions.
The surrounding places of Taj Mahal pose great threat to its white structure. why dont they do anything about it...? It attracts some of the largest foreign crowds but its dirty, people there harass u to employ a guide or buy something, total unpleasant atmosphere for westerners.
Very few temples like Tirupathis, Sri Rangam in south are maintained well.
I havent been in the north parts much, but visited lots in the South.
Look at all the Birla Mandirs they are maintained so well.
Why not the governmetn can do the same with the old ones?
People visiting these places should have awareness too. people scribbling in those places should be punished severly.
In Japan and Europe people treat heritage and old sites with great respect and they treat it better than churches or temples. Our people should learn this too.
In our country every blame should be equally shared by Greedy politicians and unaware people.

PM talks always great things. Heritage sites to be preseved from Terroirsts. But what about so called developers/building who destroyed old structures and making skyscrappers with help of govertment officials. In Mumbai there are many small buildings which are still strong and will last another 100 years also. But Buildings are tryings to evict residents and build towers.
