There are thugs whom colonists, marxists have given to analyze Indian history in terms of race. Periyar and dravidian fanaticisn was created by british in this context. They get money and awards by parroting these.
For us INDIANS, the distance between truth and fiction is only a few thousand miles. If a western archeologist says this must have been built by somebody then we will all agree it must have been built during Ramayan period. In the absence of that any such theory must be a fiction advanced by communal bunch. What a tragedy!!!

If one cant believe ramayan as a mythology we can treat it as History.One may not agree on the miracles happened but atleast you can see ayodhya, Rama and sitha caves and all these. Then what is the problem in accepting the great ness of Ram sethu ? For all the non believers of Hinduism ..Please atleast treat Ramasethu as a masterpiece instead of blasting it for peanuts. If aeroplanes are a reality today , why is not possible thousands of years back. Just because Valmiki chronicled the happenings of those days so beautifully,so majestically in an epic form Rama does not cease to be the leader that He was.People's faith over millions of years can not be trifled with. We can ot claim to intellectuals rubbishing our ancestors
Even your grandfather could be a fiction, if you have not seen him.
No one can imagine and write an epic in so much details so as to include geographic details and astronomical details to write Ramayana. There are hundres of evidences both geographically and astronomically to prove that Rama was there.And if Hindus believe him to be God, what is wrong in it? These days scientists are only verifying if our beliefs are right? Don't they agree on many facts. Rationalism should understand historic beliefs.

Even temples, churches and other worship places are being demolished for road-widening purpose. Why not ram sethu, if it really exists, can be dismantled for positive purposes. Our ancient culture is our wealth.I agree our first priorities are food and shelter but if u can spend crores of rupees to organise a Asian games or a champions trophy or can make a stupid movie with 80 crores..cant you spend some money on our ancient wonders? With out distrubing the ramasethu also canl can be dug as suggested by the committe.
The depth of the canal would be 60 feet, whish is not sufficient for abig ship to go through it. majority of the ships would be big in future , so many wont be going through the canal.
the speed of the ship aslo decreases because of the constraints of depth & width.
And for a ship to go through the canal a pilot ship is required and again u need to pay for the pilot ships , in idia there is shortage of pilot ships whish will delay the time of travel.
the canal should be maintained throught the year like silt removing , the maintance cost is very high
talking all this into consideration it is not economically beneficial.
The ram sethu aslo saved Kerala from Sunami on east. It can happen vice versa also.
all the ships going through the smalll would dump all the oil and spoil the ecology.
This is done only for the benefits of contractors and politicians.
Moreover it is the belif, History ,s oul of Indians.
Even if we assume that Ram & Monkeys built the bridge, they should have built it above waters (with pillars) so that ships can pass through. Now Ram has built it some thing below waters. We can neither use it to drive to Srilanka nor our ships can pass that canal. ram has caused a big problem to Tamils.

There has been opposition against destruction of Rama Sethu for over 1 year. Still, Talibaan Baalu didnt care about the peaceful opposition by Hindus. Currently, nearly 22% of Rama Sethu is dredged. One GOOD ASPECT of Hinuism is that till now,
1. THERE ARE NO RIOTS FROM HINDUS ACROSS INDIA 2. NO HINDU GROUP HAS DONE ANY BOMB BLAST or TERROR ACTIVITY IN THE NAME OF RELIGION 3. ALL THE AGITATIONS WERE PEACEFUL 4. ONLY LEGAL STEPS WERE TAKEN
This is a success of Hinduism. Again, it shows that we can achieve success by peace. And it again shows our Tolerance.
