If we start counting the total no. of something in india with its over 110 cr population, india will occupy first 3 or 4 places in any chart... ppl have no work now a days so they go on gathering these kind of silly statistics, like in cricket...

Report is not correct,I think that surveyor would have visited some Army camp instead of rurals and villages.India has lakhs of villages. Villagers still innocent and live with kind.
More than 90% of the firearms owned by civilians in India are just show-pieces or status symbols. Today a 12 bore cartridge costs over Rs. 45.00 compared to under Rs. 2.00 about 20 years ago.
I'm from indian occupied kashmir, and i dare say this report is baseless... I've grown up in a state where anti india protests and attacks have been the order of the day. Sometimes we civilians felt that not EVEN THE INDIAN OCCUPATION ARMY HAS LATEST WEAPONS, and that was sometimes the inspiration for us to fight these occupiers.. So the question of civilians touting arms in a country where even their army doesnt have them is farce... Moreover India is a country of half a billion beggars, and suiciding farmers, it cant afford to do this..
That is why even now you have not able to free from the Indian occupied Kashmir. And let me assure you, you never will. Becasue India is not Pakistan, who easily succumbs to any pressure, that is why Bangladesh got liberated from Pakis.
Remember each and every inch of the Indian territory can be defended, but if we want, we can again balkanise Pakistan just like we did to them in 1971.

First you have some sense that you are Indian. You have more freedom in India than what your fellow muslims are getting in pak. If you people start thinking that you are Indians all your problems will be solved.
US 90 guns per 100 = No.1 India 4 guns per 100 = No.2 but Pakistan 12 firearms per 100 = but not No.2??? is guns and firearms are different as far as firearms are concerned....see the heading...

Its the TOTAL no. of weapons where India ranks second. According to per capita figures its not the India nor the Pakistan who are second, its Yemen at position 2 with 61 guns per 100, Finland at no. 3 with 56 per 100 and so on (in later part of the article)!! Theres' no India or Pakistan or China in that list...

India No. 2 with regard to total number of arms currently with civilians. But 12 per 100 is not second because the total arms is directly related to total population
Guys !!! This data takes care of the number of licences issued by the government. But what about the un-organized sector which is operating in UP, Bihar and MP.. Same qty of weapons would be used in that un-accounted sector. So, guys, pl dont relax. If put together, it would come to > 10..
