The reporter, as usual, has jumbled-up the stats - per capita wise, India is amongst the lowest gun-toting populace (4% of the pop.). Had they been anywhere near the Swiss level, India would have had 560 million-plus guns in private hands, compared to the 46 million quoted in this report. So such claims as India being "the second most heavily armed nation" is just rubbish. Heck the peace loving Swiss by comparison, would be considered armed to the teeth with their 56 guns/100 persons.

Dear Indian,
Criminals have any religion? We feel not at all. Therefore "/Islamic Criminals" has very little value. At every nook and corner give other pain is not prize worthy.
Here we see the lines of Ramacharit Maanas of Sant Kavi Thulasi Dasji:-
Reports such as above has no relevance. 1. What was the size and composition of the sample. 2. Method decided upon selection of sample. 3. What is the socio economic & cultural background of the strata from whom data was collected.
The most important aspect which may have weighed the skewed relation of Data may be that from amongst huge numbers of EX servicemen From armed forces who retire take up Arms and serve as Private Gunman ...Where are they counted ...with Govt... or outside Law..
If Pakistan has 12 firearms per 100 people, and Iran has 5 per 100, how does India, with 4 per 100 come 2nd? Or is the ranking based on the total number of firearms and not on a percentage basis. If so it definitely doesnt make sense.

They divide total official guns count by total offical population and then multiply the result by 100. This is same for all the countries.
I do know now that how you struggled in mathematics!
