We are now facing the consequence. This time Left has the strength. So they are protesting. The pact is a substitute of NPT agreement, which India has not signed. And there is a hue and cry. BJP is also opposing but nobody is talking about that. The election is not the issue. Congress is making it issue to shift the focus from the deal. Earlier mid term election look place for no big reason but only due to Congress%u2019 power hungry attitude. Left is not for fresh election. If congress seriously wants to avoid election, they should scrap the deal.

Jyoti Basu openly stated a few months back that the RAW and CBI are always against them when the news about a CPM leader being arrested by the CBI for allegedly raping and burning alive a young girl on the field of Singur. The statement signifies that RAW have specific information about their anti-India activities for which they are against them.

I fully agree with Mr Srinivasan having long experience on the subject & not like left.Left shd come out now fully showing their interest for the nation only & not to see the matter on political angle.If N-Deal is stopped for opoosition from their side they will loose their votes in coming election & even BJP also as per the survey made by rediff & their is no doubt.Congress therfore shd go ahead with stand taken by them & take the advantage of present situation as majorities of the country are with them.If we dont go ahead with the deal the countries those are not in favour with the deal will be gainer.

Yesterday Sitaram Yechuri said they r discussing the formation of a committee to give opinion on Hyde act. They want politicians in this committee while the congress rightly says it should consist of experts.
The commies want to take the country for a ride by having their folks in it to hijack the committee.
When all national decisions r taken by experts (politicians only endorse it), why should the politicians be involved in this. Let the experts decide. Based on this the politicians can take a decision.

You don't have to travel as far as pre-independence time, they had opposed introduction of computers into offices, english education at primary level,globalization which they now have promptly accepted as blunders when situation seems otherwise. But the damamge is already done and it is the people who have suffered. Now accepting them as blunders will not make things rewind. All these shows how ideologically devoid and opportunistic they are. They oppose the same thing at center or other non-left states which they pursue shamelessly at West Bengal.
Am a strong supporter of BJP & always voted for it & Hated Congress for all reasons. Now that the BJP is working against the Nuclear Deal, i consider not voting at all. Some of my friends are also of the same opinion. BJP has disappointed me.

They will suffer reverses in the next elections. their claim of being a nationalist party has taken a hit. Also, their strategy of blaming everything on Sonia Gandhi's foreign origins has not gone down very well with the common man.
BJP today lacks people of true calibre. They have people who make sound bites like Yeshwant Sinha but lack substance. (Btw, he is an original socialist from JD in Chandrashekhar govt, who has come to BJP sensing power. How I wish, Atalji could come back to the forefront. But age is not on his side.

Possibly, probably the Left parties' stand may be not good for the nation in this matter.
But how come we have reached such a situation? By all accounts, it appears that the Prime Minister has taken the Left parties for granted presuambly for the TINA factor. When it is known that he can not run the Govt without their support, how come he didn't consult them (nitty gritty is not possible, of course! but the broad consensus or view points should not be difficult to get!)
Either it smacks of arrogance or ineptitude; given his personality I guess it's the latter!
If Manmohan Singh can not win over his allies in the Govt., how can he win over opposition, particularly in matters of importance and longevity such as 123 Agreement? International agreements such as this need need successive governments willingness to honour their previous governments commitments to international accords. Forget about winning the main opposition party BJP's approval he could not even win over his own allies. His displayed body language while briefing former PM Vajpayee has displayed it all-"Take it or leave it, I have gone ahead!"
He can neither win over the Opposition Right Wing Parties nor Allies Left Wing Parties! Neutral? perhaps, in every sense! Middle of the Road approach? We all know what happens to those who stand in the middle of the road-They get run over! It seems that is the fate awaiting his govt- And he deserves it.

They are more clever than they appear! They are seething with frustration from day one with UPA Govt for its policies on economic front and Bihar assembly dissolution etc. But they can't withdraw their support. By far their current Lok Sabha strength is the best since Independence. Obviously, they only want to improve it in the next election. It's common knowledge that not more than just 5% swing is required to sweep any election. The current majority minority's (sorry, if it confuses you) population is at 15% Because of the global happenings nowadays, the anathema towards the US is the common thread among minorities. The Left want to emphasise on this point in the next elections and state that we are better than any party including the Cong, Mulayam etc when it comes to hate the US. That possibly ensure to win over the 4-5% marginal minority vote. No other issue can win them such a sure-shot percentage. So they come up with larger numbers next time and play influential politics. So the best way is the BJP should support this agreement and see it through in the parliament and then pass a no-confidence motion against the Manmohan Govt. It may sound atrocious, but that is how a nation should be saved. But am sure the BJP doesn't have neither nerve not nation's priorities as theirs. They are as arrogant as Sonia and as selfish as Manmohan! God save this country!
