Everyone is equal infront of the court of law, whether it is Salman or sanjay Dutt. Staring a character of Mahatma does not reflect the characteristics of Mahatma. He is not an excuse, that his act can be compromised.

In my opinion there are different ways to interpret Salman's verdict
1. He should be given jail sentence since killing of endangered species is against the law. However, the death sentence of 5 years is not acceptable as it seems harsh. It seems harsh compared to the fact that criminals and politicians get way with crime more dangerous
2. Journalists should not create a farcas about celebrity court hearings. Lot of attention can be given to decisions affecting broader population like energy security, rupee depriciation, global warming etc.

If any of your family member had committed the same crime then he too would have been punished in a similar manner.
