by Arun Moorthy on Aug 24, 2007 09:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This one lakh seems to be a small amount as compared to a presidents contribution...but i bet this should be his "Hard earned money".

O! Brothers, Who says that we Indians are now enjoying Freedom?
by Ramakrishna Panicker on Aug 24, 2007 09:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yes, we have to accept this fact we are now too suffering the life of slaves, in one or the other way.

It may hurt somebody if me show here the Zone or locality and it will not too suit because of the fact is in common in our entire Nation. It is general scne that the old and poor men/women are below the sun/moon irrespective of sesons, rainey or snowee and give up their lives. Sometimes theirs dead body aslo may be at the same state upto and until the dead body not began to smell. We remember that now every where persist Cantonment, Corporation and Municipalities and all kind of office guiding the villages.

Our facilities which were a little bit gifts from the government is gruadually empteed away to private hands and they ultimately began to cheat the general publics from all sides, viz, life insurance, cable services, communication and like aminities.

Here we can see the glamplings of ICICI prudential like insurers. Now they are lengthening their hands to all urban areas. In the name of Lizon officers name they giving entry to Graduates who are in need of at least a minimum wage job, and using their entire energy attaracting the Agents to catch further policy holders. My brothers, my own dadughter, who is a post gruaduate, now serves as a Lizon officer or so who informed me at the end of about three months strenuous service the Prudential promise her an amount of neat one thousand.

So, me feel that we are now too slaves.

Really me opened the message box to say good words to our former people's President Dr. APJA Kalam, and flown away with the sceneries of our surroundings, and filled the page than the things me thought.

Really one Lakh of Rupees from the hard earned mony of Dr. Kalam is very precious.

Here we also remember our Rastrapitah Mahatma Gandhi. For praying good health to Dr. Kalam,

Jai Hind!

Few have commented below that 1 lakh is a paltry amount to donate. But one should remember that it is the intention that is important, not the amount. Besides, Kalam was supposed to have had a frugal life style, which means that he really knew the meaning of hard earned money. Maybe this was because his salary was less. You should also remember that he has always been a government employee, even as a scientist. Therefore it is certainly a big deal that he donated 1 lakh.

And when I say generous, it means nothing with giving money to your supporters/well wishers...donate money to temples...etc.All with a motive...Generosity is something , that just gives..and expects nothin in return.

What I liked here is..Unlike other politicians who just speak or (shall I say bark), he sets an example...Everytime!

i think donation of President Kalam was nominal based on what he made in his earnings. But how about those dirty politicians who make crores of rupees every year...why dont they donate??? Late promod mahajan's earnings were esitmated to be 2000 crores..how can some one earn so much??? all these corrupt politicians who r running indian should be brought to justice..

Mr. On...He lives on Government salary and he seriously lives on it! One lakh , must be a decent money...One lakh has no value these days...but more than money, we should look at the example set...

Today's generation is in a serious need of such examples...

Why limit to women?
by Madhu s on Aug 24, 2007 06:33 AM  Permalink

We all should learn from Dr. Kalam saab! His generocity is excellent. Just curiosity, why only women. Mental illness could happen to men too for that matter to anybody! So, Banyan can hold larger sections of mentally ill people, I guess!
