Why is Pro-West Naidu opposing N-deal?
by srikanth reddy on Aug 23, 2007 12:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

For the last two days, former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu has been talking against Indo-American Nuclear deal, after taking some lessons from experts in this regard.

Strictly speaking, Naidu has no reasoning to explain as to why he is opposing the Nuclear deal. All through his regime between 1995 and 2004, he was an out and out pro-American, both in his administration and economic policies. It was Naidu who used to encourage Hyderabadi students to go the USA and learn technology. He has developed several friends in the US government headed then by Bill Clinton and was a hot favourite politician for the World Bank.

Now, the same Naidu is demanding that the UPA government scrap the Indo-US nuke deal. He is now saying that the intention of the US behind the deal was to dictate terms to India through the deal. While Naidu himself was once described as a stooge of the World Bank and the USA, he is now describing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi as agents of USA, which will make India toe its line by taking advantage of the agreement. There is no guarantee that the US would not implement its 'hidden agenda' through India after the nuclear deal comes into force, he said.

There is no sudden change in the mindset of Babu, as he often says. The reasoning is simple: Naidu wants to get closer to the Left parties if the latter desert the UPA. Secondly, by opposing the USA, the TD can woo the minorities. He knows t

YSR and the congress, in close association with the left parties, lampooned Naidu as the 'farm servant of world bank' until congress came to power and started looting the state. Naidu is paying back in the same coin. Other things apart, there is real need to look at the deal more closely than Dr Singh would like to have us believe.

Left or Right, let no one trifle with America or its allies

the European Union, Japan, South Korea & Taiwan, the combined economy of 30 trillion dollars/year which Russia & China is a pittance compared with.

Anyone who annoys America will be soon inhabiting mud-huts such as Cuba, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, North Korea.

Well, this one is a well controlled business such as our India's ration shops. Even though you are the customer there, still you need to beg for your respect. What to do? Probably India need to think out of box to address the energy issue. However most of our leaders (except PM) don't even understand the upcoming energy crisis.
