please read!!! those who can not perform teach
by anindya Roy on Aug 23, 2007 10:37 PM  Permalink

One of the point made here is 'alternate source of energy' can be use instead of conventional energy.
I HAVE REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE on alternative energy.
In my village there is electricity from wind power. Govt does not give this free; however, when we connect our fridge the TV goes off! when we connect 2 fans then Fridge goes off! This is only good for running transistors.
What this people like arundhati roy telling us (=poor people in the village) is to be satisfied with this.
WHY?why? why?
why? dont we need electricity like city where we can run as many light bulb as possible?
Why? because indian people dont deserve it?
All the alternative energy is NOT GOING TO HELP US IN NATION BUILDING! we need real energy and THE ONLY WAY IS CONVENTIONAL ENERGY!
If these authors are so pissed of with conventional energy, I welcome all of them to my house and request to spend one week in the hot summer! Anyone dare to take this challenge?
Do you know why they would not even bother?Because these people are only good at giving "fundas"....
Those who can not perform, teach!

Please give you comments, readers!

Energy from the Waves--Wishful Thinking, A journey of the Left's Betrayal
by on Aug 23, 2007 10:36 PM  Permalink

Please dont speak without substantiating on the aspects of harnessing energy from the waves and the sun, everyone including you very learned people know that a stage has yet not been reached where these energies can be harnessed sucessfully, commercially and on a large scale. India has had enough of leftists who have turned their back towards India, when we needed them the most, whether this is 1947-Partition, 1962-the china war, and now when india is poised for the Great Leap Forward in its story of development, the Leftists are yet again doing what we as a people can expect only from the Leftists---being Hypocrites, being reactionaries and being most of all, disloyal to their own nation!!!

Setup an alternate energy source

If the estimates suggest that India can produce more CHEAP, RENEWABLE, ECO-FRIENDLY energy than nuclear power, why don't the people who claim that go ahead and start making it. I am sure if the plan is good enough, the government will support it. If not the government, I am sure any sane business will consider it if it makes economic sense. If the claim is that it is cheaper than other sources of energy, then obviously it will be financially feasible which makes me wonder why the Tatas and the Ambanis of India have still not considered such energy production.

People who claim such things should come up with plans first and then start meddling in politics. Saying that the US can dictate terms to India at this stage is not just an affront to Indian polity, but an insult to Indian intelligence. China opened its market to the US and gained an upper hand simply based on their cost-effective manufacturing. Now, China has massive trade surplus and can economically paralyze the US any time it wants. Letting the US into India will do the same for India. The shear human resource gives India the greatest advantage and will lead to a massive trade surplus vis-a-vis the US.

Being paranoid about the US is a submissive mentality with extremely low self-esteem. I suggest that people who worry about such things get some psychiatric help for their low self-image.

There is no doubt we will be on the brink of energy crisis if we don\'t go for all available energy sources. But I wonder why Manmohan Singh is not talking about Iran gas pipeline project? I suspect some international political motivations in this deal. To show americans, we are independent policy minded, we don\'t have to go for another nuclear weapons test. Making Iran gas pipeline project a reality would be a fitting example of our independent minds. But I doubt, Manmohan can dare that. After all we have seen Mani Shankar Iyer having his portfolio changed because he was pressing too hard for Iran gas project. Americans have already started interfering our policy making for sure. If we have to ally with americans in that way, then we must make maximum economic use of the new relationship. Otherwise India will become another Pakistan in terms of US intervention into internal and foreign policy matters.

The main problem here is we (India) doesn't have good source of Nuclear Fuel (like Uranium) which can found in other continents such as US and Australia. So with no definite source no one build a power plant.
