First you have to define ''we'', Manmohan !
by chanakya maurya on Aug 23, 2007 11:27 AM  Permalink

We means the whole nation.

Ideally the issue ought to be subjected to a referendum.

However, it is an expensive way to feel the pulse.

It would sound much more appropriate to sound out the House and put the issue to a vote.

Since UPA is a wide-spectrum platform, unlike the Rajiv government that enjoyed brute majority that denuded the muslim women through Shah Bano enactment in total and unashamed defiance of the Apex, a vote would logically reflect a referendum, or at least one can safely think so, though buying votes in Bharat Varsh is a very viable proposition for the wily politician like the lady who is the super PM of the nation, with no mandate at all,

The UPA itself is a fraud with the people of Bharatvarsh.

by Sreelekha Nair on Aug 23, 2007 11:26 AM  Permalink

Left believes in -
a. taking this country (India) to ransom at the instance of their masters in China.
b. They believe in miniscule minority opinion buldozing majoirty views.
c. Even withing their own party CPIM (read Chinese party in India), they stifle Buddhadev, Jyoti Basu's opinions.
d. Left's Karat and Bardhan are nothing but dicators who work on orders received from China.

by Kajolika on Aug 23, 2007 10:47 AM  Permalink

I always thought Manmohan Singh is a lerned, well meaning, clean honest man. But this Nuclear deal and its handling shows that he is a great negotiator for India and a good administrator as well !
He is definitely a contrast in face of the Anarchist Left !

COULD BE A BAD DEAL.....LEAVE IT TO EXPERTS TO DECIDE.....
by MANMADA GURU on Aug 23, 2007 07:39 AM  Permalink

Could be bad deal, notwithstanding this, communists are indeed working for China's interests. That paradox has always been there in this country. Recall all those incidents when congress politicians were working for USSR, YET unrevealed by C.I.A.. The subject should be left to Experts to decide, led by Dr.Abdul Kalaam.

The biggest scandle of free India is that our double agents Comrade Prakash Karat, Comrade Sitaram Yechury and closly followed by big bindi sporting Ms.Binda Karat have done a great great service to CHINA and PAKISTAN (they dont have to do anything when in our own backyard we have traitors and double agents for them) by trying to block the N-deal...they simply thrive on darknes, poverty......ask them to visit any railway station in West Bengal..and see for themselves what is "HUMAN DEGRADATION".....people eat food from the left over Pattas thrown at the railway tracks and stations!!!!!

Any solutions?
by shiva on Aug 23, 2007 06:17 AM  Permalink

As usual our politicians think making some noise and enacting drama can solve our problems. The lefties should understand any solutions require hard work and planning, most of all discipline. The progress that we have achieved is through the initiative of individuals overcoming all problems created by these selfish no hopers, who neither can build nor will they allow others to do so.

It is very easy to find faults, but where is the solution? The so called patriots make the life of others miserable. What clout do these have except to destroy? Any progress made in West Bengal & Kerala are through private enterprise overcoming these stumbling blocks who have free lunches in the name of serving the downtrodden. They do not want to emulate their heros in China because that requires hard work, which they they know they are incapable of.

Granted the nuclear deal is not want we wanted, then what is the alternative? Is it alright to depend on the Middle East for 70% of our requirements? Do they have any idea to get better deal from anybody else? It is time they realised that their days have passed and the clout enjoyed by India is not due to their existence.

As long as one is devoid of solutions, you are an empty vessel. Be a true patriot and come up with positive efforts than making noise which anybody can easily see through. It is still not too late to take real efforts to get India out of this rut of energy dependency.

We all wait for positive vibes.

India's socialist generation
by atul mohan on Aug 23, 2007 04:59 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The communist party rooted in the failed socialist idelogy is what pulling the country behind. India was supportive to socialist ideology for four decades, but it brought no good to India or the countries following socialist ideology. Fellow nations in USSR plunged to povertyafter the USSR split; China suffered four decades of poverty before it turned to pseudo-capiatlism masked in communist veil. The whole generation of people from the 'Socialist India' became suspiscious to 'Capitalist US' naturally. Though the educated India kept up with the social-economic-political changes in the world and realised the importance of market driven free economy for growth of India, the poor and uneducated masses are still rooted to socialist agenda and a closed economy. Hence they are confused and undecided over the shift in India's ideology, foreign policy and the consequent improving relations with US/EU.

It is this dilemma of poor and uneducated people that the left parties take advantage of to misguide them. They don't care about nation's interest but rather follow selfish policies to benefit themselves. However this is natural in politics of most democratic countries and will continue to happen unless something is done to create awareness among socialist generation of India.

Only 2 nations in the whole world are opposing this Indo US nuclear deal, China and Pakistan.... China has the Most Favored NAtion status with the US and opposes the same status for India. China has got a similar nuclear deal with the US bt opposes the deal with India... Jyoiti Basu of CPM protested against Indian defence againt chinese invasion of india in 1962 and was jailed by Nehru for anti India activities. Basu went on to become the CM of bengal. Commies never condemn Chinese claim of arunachal Pradesh whn the people themselves want top be part of India.. CPM opposes Indian nuclear progress bt has no problems with Chinas nuclear arming of pakistan whch are targeted towards India and supports iranian nuclear program. The communists oppose ndustrialiazation in India and went on killing 100's of poor farmers in Singur and Nandigram tryin to grab farmers fertile land for setting up industries. Commies are ruling bengal for more than 30 years now and have reduced bengal from being the finest to being the poorest.. Only big industry in commie ruled states bangal and kerala are trade unions and their number one product is strikes and bandh. Commies vociferously opposed introduction of computers by rajiv gandhi, commies cald computers as evil and against national interest. Commies neva condemned chinese invasion of India in 1962. Commies do not recognize aksai chin in kashmir as part of india. And yes the commies got a new name now "Headless Chickens and Spineless Morons".

When some one tell about my state & its backwardness, we should accept it & try to figure out the problem & try to correct it in future. We came up from poverty & come to that level atleast because American, we should be thankful for that.

Hey MR,
Speak for yourself. YOU are welcome to be thankful to the US for whatever scraps they throw at you, but I don't have to. I earn my money in India and owe loyalty and gratitude to no one else./// Arjun
