Bloated egos. Good. The commies won't win much in the next elections. I don't think the educated support them and for the illiterates, Nandigram will do the trick

Oldies of CPI, CPM should quit country
by anees ahmed on Aug 21, 2007 02:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Whatever good we could have achieved through the nuclear deal with the United States may be soon lost unless somebody helps these CPI and CPM oldies see reason. We need nuclear energy in abundance to fuel our country's economic growth. Bangalore is the IT capital of the country but is constantly hampered by power outages and so is Mumbai, India's financial capital. Nuclear energy is the solution of the future and
Dr Manmohan Singh needs all the support from all quarters to the push this N-deal ahead. These Left party leaders need to leave the country immediately as their actions are regressive to the nation. And finally, let us not forget the Left-ruled Kerala state where power shortage is a perennial problem. Sitaram Yechury and Prakash Karat, please think before you shoot from your lip!!!!!!

pls support nuclear deal
by ashish sinha on Aug 21, 2007 02:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

we currently depend on Arab nations for our huge petroleum imports.

atleast US is more trustworthy than Arab nations.

Also we would have following advantage from nuclear deal :

1. heavy investment in India by energy giants like Avera, GE etc creating lakhs of jobs.

2. speeding up of industrialization and infrastructure. Both these sectors are energy intensive. this in turn will create lots of jobs.

3. electricity availability to millions of households. poor farmers will be able to irigate their land. Children will be able to study at night.

after having stated all these I do not understand why Left and BJP are opposing this deal. Are they anti-poor ?

I support Manmohan Singh, because of whom today we have so many multinationals investing in india. I am employed by one of them.

Terror Modules
by Dravid Power on Aug 21, 2007 02:09 PM  Permalink

The commies are functioning like terror modules trying to destabilize the country and its economy by bringing down the government under the garb of patriotism. How many of these commies can spell nuclear correctly is anybody's guess.

HEIGHT OF HYPOCRACY
by vasudevan surendran on Aug 21, 2007 02:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I got little bit leniency towards communism because comparatively you can find cleanest politicians among them. However, I do not think they are the only ones who realize what is good and what is bad for the country. Height of hyprocacy! Ideology alone can't feed you.. you need development and therefore go with the world. If this treaty is not signed today .. it has to do sooner or later.

mr vasudevan how much do u know abt the N-deal. Inspite of all this hate campaign against them why Commies are opposing the deal? No one has all the facts. But a lot of noise is made. When the world powers didnt give us the super computer , we made one...silly...have we ever tried for alternate energy sources rather than nuclear energy...and we are stupid if we think nuclear technology is only for energy. theres a lot more than meets the eye. we are enterring into a league with the US. whether it is desirable or not ? I dont trust US as much as I dont trust China. Beware of the powers.

If they (read communists) have a point, then y not the govt. discusses with them - after all they too are elected members and are in a respectable position of opposition - y not a fruitful discussion before taking such a crucial n all important decision on this treaty.
Congress sucks

India as China's Province
by Dravid Power on Aug 21, 2007 02:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I guess the Left would love to make India a province of China. That for the likes of Karat and Yechury is Patriotism. People who cannot respect and trust the word of a gentleman Prime Minister like Manmohan Singh (I do not attach the same sentiment for the Congress) should be publicly caned and hanged

Manmohan Singh Ji is respected from all the quartets of life, but for his cabinet decision on this nuclear treaty. A right man in the wrong party - just as Vajpayee. But that doesnt mean that whatever the decision he takes, it is good. If this much furore is made - there must be some fire beneath this smoke gentleman. By the way - dont attribute everything to communism. Even NDA is against it

Only 2 nations in the whole world are opposing this deal, China and Pakistan.... China has the Most Favored NAtion status with the US and opposes the same status for India. China has got a similar nuclear deal with the US bt opposes the deal with India... Jyoiti Basu of CPM protested against Indian defence againt chinese invasion of india in 1962 and was jailed by Nehru for anti India activities. Basu went on to become the CM of bengal. Commies never condemn Chinese claim of arunachal Pradesh whn the people themselves want top be part of India.. CPM opposes Indian nuclear progress bt has no problems with Chinas nuclear arming of pakistan whch are targeted towards India and supports iranian nuclear program. The communists oppose industrialiazation in India and went on killing 100's of poor farmers in Singur and Nandigram tryin to grab farmers fertile land for setting up industries. Use your logic now...

What is your slogan? Hail Hu Jintao, hail Mao Zedong?

Stop this America bashing and look at what is good for India. I am 100% convinced that communists and china are the greatest threats for India than Pakis.
