Agreement 123
by muniyal bhat on Aug 20, 2007 09:21 PM  Permalink

The opposition and majority of the UPA supporting parties are opposing the Govt in handling the issue of Agreement 123. The Govt has to bow to the pressure of all and agree to reconcile on the issue of 123 in the interest of the nation. Big Brother will say so many things & dictate so many matter in his own interest. One has to realise this & act in the interest of all the citizens of India to save the dignity of Indian mother land.
The UPA needs to understand the sentiment of the people of India and take decistion in accordance with the like of the majority.

Could congress do Nuclear Deal without Manmohan singh?
by srihari rao on Aug 20, 2007 09:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I'm puzzled my self and deeply hurt with BJP's dilemma in the whole mess. First i question my self and answered that it is NDA government that has started building the chemistry with US. Chandra babu naidu while he was chief minister of Andrapradesh, relentlessly tried to get the investment from US and been successful too. Today BJP is asking CPM to join them for a floor test again Nuclear deal. Telugu Desam Party with the leadership of Naidu has released their stand that they will vote against the deal with Nuclear deal. What a pity. Both are doing for their political survival, the first one is dancing as their political opponents are fighiting with each other and the later one is carried by the political compulsions to woo the minority votes. Can any one answer me that is there any leader in Congress party other than Manmohan singh has wisdom to bring the deal to a shape? I dont think any one has that. On the other hand i thought in BJP there are many big thinkers and it is truly national party that work in the interests of the nations. And in fact my assumptions have become solid after the seeing the cooperation that BJP has extended to PVN Rao minority government to strongly push the reforms and giving a great U turn to the indian economy, GDP, standard of living etc. Even many of us remember that AB vajpayee has been send as the envoy to UN to renounce the India's stand again the motion that is proposed by Pak's representation.
And i wish the BJP/NDA thinker will put as

issue-based supporting by political parties is a good sign and democratic...political parties may beg to differ on trivial domestic issues, again done in a harm-less way...but a total aggreement on strategic matters is a MUST...foreign policy is not simply buying/ alluring handful of policy-makers...India should learn to say \"NO\"...agree on some and disagree on some...perfectly natural and normal behavior...as much possible interface with world though world bodies and forums...unless strong domestic/historical/bilateral compulsions forces otherwise...

Srihari,

Its not about opposing the deal for the sake of opposing. There are contrary statements from MMS and US regarding the deal. The basic point is we can't go for nuclear tests in future though we have a provision because doing so nullifies the deal and the nuclear reactors and the money invested in them goes waste. So to save that India can't go for nuclear tests. Now is that acceptable to a nation which is having threat from Pakistan and China.

And for those who try to label me a pro-communists, let me clarify, I am against the communists and the congress too.

But what is being pointed out Left has to be answered by Congress, after all they are in live-in relationship.

by Nakulan on Aug 20, 2007 09:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Look like commies looking for and escape route for the Nuke deal delima.
First they roarred like a lion NO deal with US:
One of the Left shouted Hunymoon finished:
then came down like a cat, other Left corrected Honeymoon finished but still can sllep with and screw:

Now again came down- to study Hyde act: Does it means Left never understood this before making all noices? or changing mind to cling in to power again? is they find the solution power is better than Nation.

This is a real dielema for the Left. They always try to put a point but never think for the long term. They may not have gone through the dsetails of the deal, and just to show their numbers in the lokshabha, they are creating problem and playing with the national image. This deal is our counries biggest achievement in 60 yrs, and Left wants to still the credit (for cancelling this deal)

What left parties are doing all these days?
by techie Jr on Aug 20, 2007 09:03 PM  Permalink

The whole process of documenting the terms and conditions were happening for more than year. And Sr. IFS office Shivshenkar Menon (when working in pakistan as indian ambassador) has been appointed, mainly lay things out on this agreement.

What left is doing all these days? Sleeping? Once everything in place, in the last minute, woke up and shouting. If they had any issues they would have discussed much earlier. So, that cong govt and our external affairs officials would have tried to do something.

This is so pathetic and childish behavior of LEFT parties, to pull the leg in the last minute. Otherhand the BJP never wanted anything else collapsing current govt. Y. Sinha started rejecting even with out looking at the text of the agreement.

I pity on Monmohan and every indian for having such a cheap thinking political leaders

Worst Indian politicians
by Sameer Sachdeva on Aug 20, 2007 08:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well Well Well, I only hear that Left and BJP saying that the deal is not in favor of our people. I want them to understand our needs first then make such comments.

As an honorable citizen of Indian nation, I guess our need going forward is the energy not the nuclear bomb. We are already a nuclear country and I don%u2019t see any reason of doing nuclear test in the near future (in so many years to come). But I only see increasing demand of the energy. So in the best of interest of this nation, we should go for this deal and support the government. Dr Manmohan Singh has done a lot of hard work for this and it will go waste owing to the worst politicians of the country if this deal is not operationlized.

That's totally foolish argument. Don't France and Russia oppose US in UN? Do the people of these countires live in hut. Don't mix business with polictics. CUBA, SYRIA ..etc., they are poor in business and live in huts. They are not poor nations because they oppose US. Then France and Russia too would have been poor.

Hi,

I advise all of you to read the full text of the deal :
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2007/aug/90050.htm

and then discuss the matter freely. I think Left has a point here. The text is too global and leaves too many things to be decided later on as per US interests.
