Festival of Brotherhood & Joy
by Martin Sequeira on Aug 20, 2007 03:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am a Christian from a small town of Vasai sub-urb on Western Railway. Every year in our village, the Hindu brothers bring Ganapati idol on the day of 'Ganesh Chaturthi' along with a band. The band belongs to the christian band company and every year they are given the honour of bringing the Ganesha Idol irrespective of the fact that there are other band companies in the surrounding managed by Hindus. This is an ideal example of inter-religeous atmosphere of whicjh I am witness since my childhood. Chrristians visit their Hindu neighbours and friends during this Ganesha Festival and its one of the few events that brings us together.

U dnt hane any Lord Ganesha's temple in UK ? If u dnt hv,u can go to any Temple in UK, Lord Ganesha is everywhere. No need to be in India.Only the thing is u'l miss the chance of eing actively involved in Festival.......
Dnt worry, when u'l be in India afterwards then enjoy.
