shiva sena is opposing maha mumbai project, mamata is opposing tata's project, BJP is opposing the nuclear deal and wanted "swadeshi" earlier- then how come only communists are anti-development?
Why do we need to surrender our independence? this will be evaluated by the president of US every year - and if he finds any fault he can withdraw from the agreement. Bush may be liberal to india - but what about next president?
within Next 20-30 years trade between asian countries will be much more than between US or E.U. Trade between ASEAN, BRIC, Central Asian countries will be much higher.WE dont need an outsider dictating things in asia. We dont need to Join US to contian China. China cant beat India in any case. If war happens it will destroy both countries.
If US is that much intrested in India's development - Why dont it support India to get a permenant seat in UN - or why it did not support Sasi Taroor in UN? and why is it supplying Pakistan with the latest weapons.?

love to oppose for no reason, and to hold diametrically opposite views at the same time. They opposed Nuclear tests, now they oppose the deal and one of their points in opposing it is supposedly India cant do testing as per the deal.
The commies are masters of double speak. They collude with the Jehadis in Kerala; stage protests in the UP and elsewhere in protest against a cartoon published by some Dane and do not pronounce a word against the fatwas issued by some in UP including ministers in that period; try to belittle Manmohan even though they are part of the UPA ... I could go on.
That the commies are traitors is a no-brainer, but the 123 agreement is a lot more complex. India needs energy security and the future looks really bleak for the indigenous nuclear program; crippled as it is by the US led embargoes.
The 123 agreement may take care of India's short term energy need, but by signing the deal, India will forever become a client state of the US. We may eventually come under the nuclear umbrella of the US, but that is not what 2 billion Indians would cherish in the year 2050. By that time we would potentially have left the US far behind in the economic race.
We do have the largest known reserves of Thorium. We also have proven expertise in Thorium based FB reactors. What we are lacking is the political will and funding to make sure that the nuclear sector draws the best talent and beats the Americans at their own game i.e. technology. Unless we beat them at technology we will continue to be paupers whereas the Americans will throw these rubbish 123s at us. Manmohan should do a Kennedy and ask the scientists to come up with a reliable Thorium based reactor design within ten years.
Raman is from R&AW. The last Chief of R&AW has defected to USA with all secrets of India. Do not trust this Raman either. He must be on a payroll of the CIA, otherwise he cannot betray his country in this way. Who has created this violent Islam so powerful: Jimmy Carter and Reagan who gave every kind of weapons to Muzzahadins to destroy Afghanistan. Ben Laden was celebrated in the White House by Reagan as the Afghan Freedom Fighter. Who is now selling $20 Billion worth of weapons to Saudi-UAE? It is USa. The real number of people dead in the carnage was 700 odd, out of which 250 were hindus, including those who got burnt by jihadis in the train. Numbers were jumbled by the hindu hating media. Adding to what Vinay said,it is disconcerting that none of the 'secular' forces seem bothered about the attack on Taslima Nasreen.One remembers the same 'silence' by the seculars even after Godhra.She was not speaking against Prophet muhammad,but on her book,which dealt with the 'persecution of Hindu Minorities in Bangladesh'.The mullahs there did not like it and,as usual all it takes for them to get a band of fools to rally against her is to cry that she has insulted Islam.But in india,setbacks to Hindus anywhere is not an issue? right ?
