leftists can be simply coined as "Desh Drohis" of India. A classic example of aligning with the communists is when the Tianmen Massacre took place several years ago, not a single left-leader condemned the massacre. Innocent people laid down their lives and still the memories are haunting.
When the communist empire in the erstwhile USSR collapsed, no left-party leader spoke about the collapse!!!
