Mr Mukherjee, you are obviously a Commie sympathiser. Communists of India are not rulled by their patriotic feeling for India rather by their leanings towards their idealogy masters. Communists didn't support the "Quit India"movement against the Britishers in 1942 because Russia and British were on the same side of WW II. Everyone knows the communist party's stand during the India-China war of 1962.Even now they are trying to torpedo the nuclear deal with US to appease the chinese. Mr Mukherjee wake up to the fact that you can fool some people all the time (WB and Tripura), Some people some of the time (some constituencies in rest of India) but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

why opposition party is only for the sake of opposition??? This is the time political parties should rise above their differences where matter of such high importance needs to be decided. India's future will be highly directed with this n-deal, hence we should keep our petty differences aside and have a national debate over such issues. Polictical parties like BJP has a major responsibility. They should analyse the situation and if required do not hesitate to support the government. While setting up priorities between two almost identical issues of importance to the Nation, well, any simple wisdom will give a priority to National Security over an energy issue! If Nation is lost, what do we do with enormous energy? Further, the quantum of energy that is likely to be obtained, if at all we succeed amidst several risks in addition to the one of National security, is very meager and that too without any assurance of sustained supply of energy for ever! Under the circumstances, it does not warrant much thoughts to decide in favour of National security above all! How national security is in peril can be inferred from the sustained arrogant and dominant behaviours of US to annexe any nation for its own benefits at any cost by using its might as the world history reflects! Its illegitimate, unauthorized and illegal interference in internal affairs of Afghanisthan, Iraq, India-Pakistan and Israel-Palestinian and also the threatened interference in the matters of North and South Korea and Iran etc., are concrete evidences of its wickedness without any valued high moralistic principles! In this day and age, it is not possible to separate national security from energy. Assured energy is an integral part of national security. National security is not the same as what it was 50 years ago, i.e., ability to win in an all out war. Threats to national security these days come in the form of low intensity insurgencies (aided by enemies); threat to water, energy, infrastructure; exploiting societal fault lines such as religion, caste, language, etc. to create internal instability, etc. So, it is not possible to treat energy separate from natinal security.
Also, Indians need to grow up from their cold war mindset of painting US as evil (like this opinion above suggests). All mature and advanced societies achieve their prosperity by identifying their national interests and pursuing them single mindedly. That's what US does; that's what China does; that's why UK aligns itself with US slavishly; there is no shame in pursuing your national interests. We need to grow up and start pursuing our national interests unabashedly. If aligning with US in certain aspects is in our interests (in some aspects, it is) then we must do so, irrespective of what we think about the correctness of US involvement all over the world.
