Did his best
by Gandhi on Aug 19, 2007 09:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What Mr. Sibbal says as the best effort from the PM and his govt to negotiate the Nuclear deal, it seems they never carried any Indian agenda for the meeting. Leave conveying our interest to US, the govt looks to have been satisfied by gaining mear ally with US on this. If Us is to dictate our Nuclear agenda we are better without it. Next door you will soon have lot many pyjama clad gentlemen walking and playing with Nukes. Our leadership has let the whole nation down.
Mr. Sibbal should be more worried, rather than trying to justify the fip-flop the govt has done on this.

The Govt has not done any flip-flop on this issue. The PM is as firm as he was on the day he announced he would stick to the promise to the parliament.

Kindly give us some pointers of your so called flip-flop.

Correct.
In the subject Matter bwlow:(He is more concerned abt power struggle btw NDA and UPA and not Nation)
"He claimed that Hyde Act would become redundant once this deal is signed -- an argument which only his best of friends would not be able to buy. He accused the BJP of trying to sabotage the deal when during Vajpayee's tenure Jaswant Singh as foreign minister was willing to sign the deal himself.

Mr. Sibal, Common man is not fool. They know that Deal on Energy front is good, but there are serious clauses in it which concerns indian foriegn policy and security ... what about that. Left is only asking for a debate on Hyde act, go and convince them ... instead of convincing the nation. You only chose Left as ally without asking the Nation.

Rather than giving statements for public it will be good to go and convince the PM and madam Sonia of severe consequences. Mr Sibbal looks fool trying to put up astand on this.

The deal with Saudi Price and Britain for buying military equipments was done with good paper works. He was given commission for buying the military equipments(to maintain his boieing 747).These commission money has been transfered from a Britian to America as per legal paper works.Although investigations arose it didnt proceed that much.

New deal, new people and better person to make the paper works so as to be safe in Indian courts!!!!!

Nuclear Deal
by true tamilan on Aug 19, 2007 07:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is very clear that once India signs nuclear deal, India has to be subservient to US in most of the foreign matters. The million dollar question is whether India should choose independent foreign policy or economy of the country and the people.

Nobody will supply India Uranium even the so called ally Russia. Only USA can allow others to supply the fuel. In my opinion, India with its huge population should take nuclear contract with USA and focus on economy rather than nuclear testing and pursuing pro-commie foreign policy

Left does not like India's affinity towards US, they wud like India to have friendship with Cuba and North Korea and cede Indian territories to China. N Ram of Hindu Newspaper, chinese national daily headquartered in Chennai is espousing this.

BJP still thinks that nuclear testing is more important than energy in India. BJP did the right thing when they test nuclear weapons. China had gone far ahead in nuclear technology than India. Will BJP be ready to bet on India developing nuclear reactors with thorium in the next 5 years. If so, I agree with BJP, otherwise, let us go with Sardarji and surrender our independent foreign policy for economic gains.

BJP's stand is very clear. They want a debate in the parliament instead of pushing it thru. They do not like the idea of india giving up the testing of the nuclear weapons.

Only time, US saw tough talkers from India was during BJP rule. Go and read the admiration of Armitage for Jaswant singh. They will talk tough and make sure that the India's testing will not affect the supply of nuclear fuel to India and this point is there in the deal.

Manmohan singh did the best
by Danendra Jain on Aug 19, 2007 07:15 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is possible that Mr. Manmoan Singh PM and the government as a whole did the best for the nation by agreement on nuclear deal with USA.Mr. Kapil Sibal now says that there should be a debate on the issue to make the matter crystal clear . Where was the government and its advocates when BJP and left parties were demanding discussion on the issue in the Prliament. When the agreement has reached its ultimate position , when retreat is almost impossible and when the image of the government is at stake it is ridiculous to ask for debate or discussion on the issue. The pros and cons of the matter should have been placed before the mass in a more transparent manner long ago.The more it is discussed the more safest it would have been.It is not that whatever Opposition parties speak is against the Nation and against the so called secular agenda of the government.
It is not too late even now. Government should publish in all newspapers the merits of the agreement and invite demerits and suggestions from all opposition parties and all citizens at large. After all it is a question of safety and sovereignity of the country.
Mr. George Fernandes rightly blamed Mr. Mammohn Singh, PM for misleading statement given by him in the Parliament that India can go for nuclear test even after nuclear deal with USA negotiated in the recent months. There was large scale hue and cry in the Parliament on this issue. Left parties BJP and SP all blamed the government on the issue. During the hot exchange

NOT THAT I AM BACKING THE COMMIES. IT IS NUCLEAR TRAP FOR THE NATION AND WE SHUD NOT HAVE THE AGREEMENT- THERE ARE PROBLEMS IN THE AGREEMENT.
MANMOHAN SINGH MAY NOT BE BEHIND THE AGREEMENT-SOMEONE ELSE IS PULLING THE STRINGS-TO PROTECT EUROPE.
There is no cheap thinking- HAVE YOU GONE THROUGH THE CONSTITUITION OF THE USA? See How their Brain Works- After Studying our Constitution they went for this agreement-BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT IT DOES NOT REQUIRE VOTING- Our Copnstituition needs Review. What is the Government at the CENTER with only 218 MPS with Commy Backing?
Need not go to the NUKE LEVEL- UNDER RTI Ask the Railways to Provide details under 200 series accounts for the years 2004- 2007- One may get an Insight about the So called Turn around in Railways- BOOK PROFIT OR CASH PROFIT& FINANCIAL PROFIT. It is ridiculous that the Constitution says the Govt. need not get the parliament's approval for agreements with foreign govts ! Dr.Singh may be an economist but not a scientist. He should therefore address a press conference along with scientists of all shades of opinion.

after signing the nuclear deal with u.s.a our fate would be like an animal in a zoo.it gets the food, four wall protection and no freedom.if india govt. likes this deal and wants india to be like a zoo animal, then god bless these so called intelligent people.dr.man mohan singh is an economist and not a far sighted philospher.why not put all your resources to build your own nuclear plants with own uranium.is india a second grade nation compared to china.dr.man mohan singh should stop this deal for the time being.all execuses by congressmen can not be digested by our county men.america has never helped any body.germany, japan have helped themselves, similarly india should accept the challenge.if dr.man mohan singh does not listen, then surely this govt. must make room for the some one else who can inspire.this govt. is passing time.corruption is wide spread, nothing is being done on this front.lachs of hindus uprooted from their home lands in kashmir.fatwas are issued ,govt. is standing,a parallel govt.is being run by mullahs.police atrocities are increasing day by day.on papers and lectures every thing is said.criminals of particular religion are not punished because of vote bank politics.ministers ate not accountable for their works.govt. is after quota system, not after merit.now demand being raised that judges shall also be appointed on quota system.provide free education up to tenth class to each child.how long these politicians wants to make our country slave of sc/st and obc q

Commission %
by Prasanth kumar on Aug 19, 2007 07:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Every big deal there is commission as % for years after a deal.(eg:Saudi Prince got commission for deal with Britian). This nuclear deal is one sort of this thing although it supplies enery for growing India.

During the main deal making these highly confidential side deals are also made.It may be 1% or less than of eg(100-200 million dollars).

In the meetings between left and right this commision % makes the assess burn.

Some people are really good in making economic policies.3 times food for a normal man and 1% of those millions in his account.
