This is unbelievable. Here you have the US state department spokesperson clearly saying that nuclear cooperation is finished if india tests. So where is all this talk that ronan sen is quoting. Why is this not in paper, explicitly defined for all people to see. Clearly due to the vague nature of the paperwork implies the 2 parties can take any interpretation that suits them in which case its clear that the US will quit cooperating.
If bush has to win one brownie point in his favor after a series of debacles and blunders in his presidential career, it is the 123 agreement. Dont worry, democrats are even more liberal. They wont halt the deal if India conducts a test.
India should go ahead and sign the agreement with a few caveats saving its skin.
