This is nt the only thing that people of this country are gettig cheated about .many people are getting emails stating that the sender of th email has a large amount of deposit made by his /her late fathere and hat needs assisitance to withdraw thge deposit and sent o tsome foreign country as the politicl sret up at present in his /her country is inmimical to the lae depositor or somethin g like thAT .She /he might asl for the bank account details to deposit the money .some greedy and foolish people respond and furnish the detalis and loose their monen in the Bank account here .Some people receive emails hat they have won some lottery and they would be asked for details of ther bank account .they also furnish the details and loose teir money. So greedy people who desire for large sums of unearned money are easily cheated .People who who feel like responding to offeres like this aand job offers should consult knowldegeable persons her ebefore responding to any offer or advetisements .
I am surprised that the educated people can be so stupid to have financial transactions based on Emails! These would not stand in the court of Law! For any oportunity the doctor could hae contacted the respective embassies.
I feel sad that such an Incident occured. But I am surprised that people send so much moeny, just by email correspondence. In this whole episode, she probably could have flown to US and back.
This is very common now. I get almost 15 e-mails daily, saying I have been selected for so and so position and the salary is---hold your breath---47000 USD a month---I always delete the msg. As someone pointed out, some of these e-mails are from Nigeria. But I can not believe some educated person to fall for the trap! I doubt if interpol can do anything. All the names would be fictitious. The online money transaction would be in the name of a nameless entity(hawala).
Im sure this would be the handiwork of Nigerians...Nigeria is spam capital of the world. If u get a mail from Nigeria or any african country promising u the moon..just ignore it or report as spam..
This had appeared in the local news papers on the front page few months back. its surprising that it has appeared in rediff on headlines so late.hats off to rediff team!
