9. Spot the odd place from the following:

a. Kodaikanal
b. Bangalore
c. Pune
d. Ooty

Ans - c. Pune, It is the only place among the four options which has developed not just because of its pleasant climate, but also because of good business environments due to better infrastructure and well planned layouts for the city. Unlike the other cities, majority of the occupants have skilled man power and are the localites who stay and develop their own place.

10. Choose the odd city from the following in terms of traffic:

a. Patna (in Bihar)
b. Chennai
c. Mangalore
d. Bangalore

This city also has a very law abiding traffic where reckless driving by two wheelers, three wheelers and four wheelers are found the least.

The numbers might look too small for you to accept the situation, but these are only the cases which came to the fore. Lets accept it, there are more than what the numbers say.

sexual harrassment
by vijay kumar on Aug 18, 2007 02:58 PM  Permalink

It was a writing on the wall. The day we accepted night working culture and allowing women in particular to work in the night, this was to be expected. So much for modernisation. And sadly it only seems to be increasing. Sorry, i am not against women working. Emphasis is only on a cultural shift and responsibility of the parents in allowing their children to drift away.

I have seena beautiful message displayed PROMINENTLY in the WIRO Finance department that says, "No Grey" and talks of ethics being Black-and-White. Sexual harassment is only one aspect of office ethics and we must learn from the trendsetters.

Wipro is a good example to follow. (I am not an employee of Wipro, nor do I now have a business relationship).

vo sab kehne ke liya hai..do you think Wipro would accept 1 million dollar in damages if sexual harassment is proved ?

Wipro has internal resolution mechanism which is basically like Indian govt. committee.

Late working hours has nothing to with anything
by Totally Bored on Aug 18, 2007 02:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

--quote--
Late working hours, especially in the BPO sector, are considered as the main cause for such cases rising.
--quote--

783 cases from pvt sector vs 245 from govt.

Which shows there's a higher rate of harrasment in govt. offices than in the private sector(there are a LOT more pvt. companies than govt. offices) And govt. offices don't work after 5PM.

So please stop drawing such baseless conclusions about the time of day or position of the sun/moon having anything to do with it.

There is more crime on the streets at night because the stupid govt. forces all the shops to shut down thereby resulting in fewer people around. If the city were open 24/7 the crime rate would be evenly spread out .. because criminals will be criminals.

very well said..i am with you on this, more than pigeon holing BPO people need to realize that not a single educated man or woman is unemployed in our country (until they want to be unemployed on there freewill) just because of this one particular sector.

It has to be both ways Altaf, not just for women. That is the point. Most people here, are trying to only blame women. Decent upbringing in guys is what is also required.
