i AM ASHAMED OF BEING AN iNDIAN. tHE GOVT CAN NOT TAKE ACTION AGAINST SUCH BARBARIC ACTS AND FATWAS BECAUSE OF MUSLIM VOTE BANK. What are the so-called social activists doing? Shabana Azmi, Medhapatkar, The civil liberty union etc are silent. If it is BJP or RSS they jump at them. What a shame?

They should...fanatism is fanatism, muslim or hindu, Maoist or Assamese, etc or etc. Taalibaan, Al Qaidese, RSS and their hindutva families, SIMI, Lashqar-e-toibese, Maoist, ULFA all require to be equally condemned and irradicated. fatwas are funny. when jinnah was alive, one mullah had put a prize on his head and called him 'kaafir e aazam', a corruption of his title 'quaid e aazam'. but it did not make any difference to his popularity.
Taslima is under attack from all muslim fanatics but do any of them even know what exactly she has said or written that has driven bees up their pyjamas? The media is full of who said what against Taslima, but it suits them not to investigate what she exactly has written. The imam seems to have shot off his mouth and is challenging the law with his utterances. He should be booked for misusing his religious status and inciting criminal deeds from the very people he is supposed to guide towards good. Can the media behave responsibly and stop giving publicity to such specimens? Without an audience these publicity crazy imams may lack the incentive to croon such fanatical dictats and further prevent getting equally fanatical responses from other communities. The imam is playing to an audience. Deny him the audience besides other legal proceedings to correct his barbaric utterances. These maulvies live in a cocoon with their egos pampered by illiterate muslims who depend on them for the so-called 'taaleem' which for various reasons they have deprived themselves. The ego thus developed unchecked takes the form of such irresponsible utterances where they feel they are required to take a stand on an issue. They don't even realise that the civilised world will no longer tolerate crime in any form whatsoever and for any reason whatsoever.

She is being punished for writting "Lajja" I am sure hardly any muslim would have cared to read that book, I have read that book.
she has not spoken anything against the religion in that book. but she has written fiction along with true stories that how majority muslims torture minority hindus in Bangladesh.

Few things...
If you are a born christian, why were you named Ashish ?
American history is not christian history. Red Indians were not christians (remember tribals ). Of course, they were decimated and converted.
Yes, now majority is christians in America. But, why dont you try and say in public it is a christian nation ? I guess you might be slapped a lawsuit.
If you are brown skinned christian, most likely a white bigot will not know you are a christian, than you will have to go explaining the whole nine yards.
About us Hindus, I personally know of none who have their name changed. All their kids have nice Hindi/Sanskrit names. But, yeah, as I said, there are definitely few black sheep everywhere.

u have to ask my folks why they named me ashish just as sanjay khan has a hindu name,and dude i dont have to go loud and say ameerica is christian ,im notv a lunatic it doesnt take a person too long for a person to realise america first religion goin by the number of churches ,peoples names,crosses in peoples cars and the way christmas and easter are big holidays as for hindus changin names its simple u have to have a christian name as they wont understand ur hindu name ,nutin to be ashamed bout ,even the japs and the rest do it.
