India will remain secular as long as Hindus are in majority because Hindus are fundamentally open minded with belief in "Sarva Dharma Samanvaya". Once the balance tilts the other way, our brothers and sisters in Pakistan and Bangladesh have shown what would follow. After all they were us few decades ago.
Look at Kerala, even in most educated state, Muslim league and Church is so strong when it comes to ballot. When was the last time anybody looked upto Hindu Swami to ask who to Vote for?

very very true and still there are foolish hindus out there who believe that all religions teach only peace and love. In my opinion christianity and islam preach no tolerance and believe that thier way as the only way and all others would go to hell if they don't convert. Would God reserve berth to you in heaven, just based on religion irrespective of what you do on earth ?? Just because I am muslim/christian, if I freak out doing all the bad things I would goto heaven and even if I am very good, do all the right things, but if I am hindu,I would goto hell ?? I don't buy this retarded logic, on why a person should actually convert. As long as you are do right "karma" irrespective of your religion, you will land up in heaven (if it exists) and goto hell otherwise. Being Hindu really helped me look at analyze things freely. Being muslim, you don't have an option as whatever said 1400 yrs back is final and no change/analyzing is allowed/tolerated. Same with Christians as well, but in west, there is atleast seperation of religion and state and there is no persecution if you question bible. But for muslims, questioning is not allowed at all and there would be jokers like this Imam, who threaten to kill anyone who question/analyze thier religion. I really don't understand how an educated and informed guy could still be a muslim, its difficult to understand the logic that they would use to "convince" themselves and support all the extremism in Islam. Your thoughts about Hinduism and Christianity are wrong... Yes, Christianity does say that you have to preach and that there is no salvation under any name except that of Jesus.... but there is no instruction or command that people should be forced to accept Jesus or the the person who rejects Jesus should be killed or not allowed to live his life the way he wants.... If he has done anything wrong, god will avenge.... Same is given in the Gita wherein Sri Krishna advises Arjuna to abandon all varieties of religion and simply surrender unto Him. But again there is no force to do it... its totally a person's wish to do so....
