RE:A Hindu Priest
by on Aug 17, 2007 11:28 PM  Permalink
We Hindus have become a timid race, almost a cowardly race. We lack the courage of our convictions. Some of us don%uFFFDt even have any convictions, and have been trying to hide our shame under high-sounding but empty phrases like secularism. For the last so many centuries, the history of the Hindus has been created by non-Hindus, first the Moghuls, then the British. Even today, the Hindus are being denied their right to write their own history, which, to me, is almost like genocide. Until we write our own history, this land cannot be ours.

RE:Where is the outrage ?!
by on Aug 17, 2007 11:29 PM  Permalink
I simply cannot understand what is so communal about a community trying to build a temple, the most honourable of acts, in their own land. Would anyone deny Catholics their right to put up a church in Rome? Would anyone say no if the Saudis wanted to build a mosque in Mecca? Why on earth should there be a mosque in Ayodhya of all places? How would they feel if someone tried to build a Rama temple in Mecca? The Babari mosque was built by Babar who had no business to be in India. He came here as a conqueror but the right of a conqueror ceases as soon as he ceases to be a conqueror. This country is now ours, not Babar%uFFFDs and what is all this freedom worth if we cannot undo a wrong? That is also what history is, the undoing of a patently wrong act committed by a conqueror in the full flush of power. This is what I meant when I said that we are going to re-write history, for, I repeat again, that is precisely the meaning of freedom.

Hindu Temples - What Happened to Them is a book in two volumes by Sita Ram Goel, Arun Shourie, Harsh Narain, Jay Dubashi and Ram Swarup. (Volume 1: ISBN 81-85990-49-2, Volume 2: ISBN 81-85990-03-4) The first volume was published in spring 1990.

The first volume includes a list of 2000 mosques that it is claimed were built on Hindu temples, which it is asserted is based primarily on the books of Muslim historians or the inscriptions of the mosques. The second volume excerpts from medieval histories and chronicles and from inscriptions concerning the destruction of Hindu (including Jain and Buddhist) temples. The authors claim that the material presented in this book are only the tip of an iceberg.

Yes, is not this a shame for the world's so called "largest democracy". I see no difference between India and Iran, where they openly called for Rushdie's assassination.

Indian govt. will probably award this Mullah who issued the fatwa with Bharat Ratna.

Well I am talking sence. Yes I am ashamed of my country India. If there was any law and order in this country this Immam should have been in jail by now. Why are you recommending her to stay in india when Indian government can gaurantee her saftey? They didn't made any single comment for her protection. Indian government are run by bunch of fools.

They put Sanjay Dutt in jail just by asuming that he can cause mass distruction by Ak-47. Now this Imam is openly telling that he will reward killing. What is this? Some kind of circus?

well that was your own introduction. You are a jerk and you got no brain.
You know in your heart that India sucks. Our government and system is more corrupt than you can imagine.
If this is not the case why do IIT and IIM students just wait to run out of country? becuase they got brains and you don't. No smart guy want to stay in India.
This year twice the number of allowed work visa for USA were applied in just one day. All these shows that India sucks and you suck too.

Why did our president spend so much time trying to save a terrorist who killed so many on parliment attack?. And terrorist is still alive.

First learn to accept your mistakes, then talk.

I had come back at last, come back to my spiritual home from which I had wandered away in self forgetfulness. But this coming back was no atavistic act. On the contrary, it was a reawakening to my ancestral heritage which was waiting all along for me to lay my claim on its largesses. It was also the heritage of all mankind as proved by the seers, sages and mystics of many a time and clime. It spoke in different languages to different people. To me it spoke in the language of Hindu spirituality and Hindu culture at their highest. I could not resist its call. I became a Hindu.

Reviewed as a whole, the period between the last decade of the 12th century and the first quarter of the 18th - the period which is supposed to be the period of Muslim empire in India - is nothing more than a period of long-drawn-out war between Hindu freedom fighters and the Muslim invaders.
