Let us think practical. There is no point in saying all Muslims should go out of India. That is neither right nor practical. We need to teach lessons to Imam and MIM so that no one dares to show they are above the law openly (If they say or do anything covertly we need to handle that covertly). If they show defiance openly and get away with it with just some murmers against Islam on these forums, that would be their victory. I know what I suggest is not great for heated discussion. But I will tell you this much. I have been here for quite some time and see that people use these forum to just abuse instead of talking logically to address the problem on hand. Current problems on hand are: 1. Bringing this Imam to books 2. Making MIM realize that this is India and not banan republic to get away with whatever remarks they want. 3. Taslimas stay here: We like it or not, we have to take a stand here. We had similar situation in 1971. We had 10 million Bangladeshi's. Instaed of just helping the refugees Indians fought under the leadership of Indra Priyadarshini against the root of the problem (Alas! She squandered the chance to retain all the land won by army during the Simla accord - So India won the battle, but lost the air). This time we need to win the battle and the war against Muslim separatists ans fundamentalists
Are we Indians waging a losing battle against Islam. How dare these worms declare fatwa in a so called secular country with a bounty on the head? Are we already back into 6th century. Writing a book with critical thinking is blasphamous and instigation. Then what is fatwa and openly asking followers to kill infidels and those with opposing voice?
We Hindus don't deserve any better in this country. We are bound to like rest of us who are now in Pakistan and Bangladesh leading a very happy Islamic life!! We have enough back stabbers, who you will notice will soon startlabelling me as fundamentalist, while they will make sure this mullah is protected by all means and draw attention to what I wrote above and my frustration!

if CPIM is giving her security then im worried for her more now. God knows what they might do turn her over to these fundamentalists.
If the muslims want what the banner in the rally said, "If you harbour Taslima and Rushdie in India, then drive away all the Muslims from this country", then let it be. I guess nobody is stopping them to go out of country to their cherished land of Pakistan and Bangladesh. They got the opportunity in 1947 and again in 1971, but they blew it. Now is the time for all muslims to leave India and rot in hell (Pak and Bangladesh). Good Luck Amit
What an idea ! India will be free of all the head aches and the economic growth rate will double. That banner really makes sense. We should keep Taslima and Rushdie in India.
All people (including me) discussing abt superiority of Hinduism or Islam or the bad aspects of these religion are allowing the real issue to slip through.
We should now fight to bring Imam to the legal process. Granted - politicians can play dirty games here. But we should fight unitedly with single purpose - to show that India is not Banana republic. No one should be able to challenge constituition even indirectly as done by Imam.
If there is a strong voice of protest, even vily politicians have to give in. But for that we should fight with single purpose.
Advice to My friends who are writing bad about Islam and Hinduism. It does not matter if a religion is great or not, they do not have write to call for killing anyone. That is a challenge to the constitution. If we allow this India will not be better than any banana republic

Mukherji, Bengali Hindus along with their communist cronies will surely make bengal a bagladeshi muslim majority state..They forgot that just 36yrs back in 1971, about 100K bangladeshi hindus were killed by their bengali muslim brothers, thanks to people like Indira they were saved and even give place in delhi.
