PM should tell the truth to the nation.....iam not a fool to think that the nuke deal will not be dead if indiA tests a nuclear device in future.....the PM either should tell that india doesnt needs nuclear bombs so we are signing nuclear deal....but completely evading on the question of nuclear testing and nuke deal, this PM is going to mislead the entire nation and lying to the entire nation.....he should tell the truth or apologise and quit....

i m totally agreed with you, UPA and left parties both are misleading the nation. If you want you can see the condition of West Bengal, how the left parties misled the state.
I would like to share that CONGRESS during all ite tenures has supported USA more than their own country,. The home in which they are living and taking "chain ke saanS" . Actually people during election are not voting and wrong governemnt is coming into play. Whenever some bollywood show is happening pepole are particiapting whole heartedly but when during elections they have to choose Governemnt, which will rule them they are treating that day a one more fun-holiday rather than fate deciding day of India. NOW WE ALL ARE FACING the BIG MUSIC. KAASH Abhi bhi log jaag jaye.

I fully agree with you. Unless people are educated well, they can not think in interest of nation.

It is not education...It is excaping from responsibility which is leading to this problem. I have seen most educated people don't vote at all.

I FULLY AGREE! THE FIGURS WILL BE ASTONISHING AND SHOKING! 50% OF EDUCATED PEOPLE DO NOT VOTE, WHO CAN REALLY DECIDE WHICH GOVT.SHOULD COME TO POWER. BUT SORRY TO SAY, ONLY FARMERS AND SLUM DWELLERS VOTE IN INDIA IN TOTALITY!

Extremely right. Election commission has also a duty on hand by allowing people who are outside their electoral place to vote online... or something like that. As I have been out of my state for 4 years and staying in different cities at different time of elections, I have not been able to vote. Last central election was also announced in hot summer of may where going out and voting was painful. Election commission should market and create a goodwill to urge people to vote
Opposition oppose for every thing what goverment does....it doesnt matter who is in opposition whether congress or BJP.And what to say about left parties, they oppose every matter even if they are in goverment. All these exercise by these political parties just to confuse common man,so indian BEAWARE with these politician along with DOGS.

RE:Why is the name 123 Agreement
by Teesmar Khan on Aug 17, 2007 02:26 PM Permalink
Actually it is resolution no. 123 of America. Nothing to do with Lotus 1-2-3. That is out-dated.
To know why Left is opposing 123 deal, you have to go beyond what Newspapers or these Political people say.
US and India both acknowledge the threat of having hostile Pakistan and Strong China as Inda's neighbour. For obvious and other interests of US, It want to empower India to be able to keep check on both these countries. Nuclear power for peacefull purposes is totally shit thing. US is giving this name to resist opposition from its own people and world oppositon. China is totally aware of the situation and anybody who knows these Left parties can imaginge that China is thus bribing Left to oppose this deal so that this agreement is not signed. Left leaders are known traitors. Even if their doubts are true than what will happen if India conduct nuclear test and then who will stop them. At that time worst or worst US will withdraw their support and levey some penalties whcih will even in that case will be equal to today's situaiton and therefore India only stands to win in any siutuation after signing this agreement. Hope COngress Strategists are listening this argument!!!

I agree totally. To me it as clear as daylight, that China wants to continue to have psychological dominance over India having once given us a hard military slap. Arunachal pradesh dispute, cozying up with Pakistan,Bangladesh and Maya mar are all encirclement moves of China. We need friends who can keep china in check and today it is only U.S.And U.S. wants India to be strong vis a vis China for their own security and influence in Asia and Africa. Geopolitically it is a win-win deal and most essential balancing arrangement. Why otherwise U.S. should go so much out of way to make exception in our case?

You are correct. The larger objective is to enable hedge against china. Ironic thing is that when the nuclear test was conducted the left condemned it. Now they are shedding tears that india will not be able to conduct tests in the future. We should ignore BJP...they've lost senses after being out of power. They are the opposition party and will oppose everything.

I AGREE MORE THAN WHAT YOU SAY! YOU WORDS SHOULD BE WRITTEN IN GOLDEN LETTES AND FRAMED INTHE PARLIAMENT "Ironic thing is that when the nuclear test was conducted the left condemned it. Now they are shedding tears that india will not be able to conduct tests in the future." AND BJP WILL OPPOSE EVERYTHING BCASE They are the opposition party

You are absolutely correct...really don,t understand y the people are opposing because the worst thing that will happen if India conducts nuclear test is that we be in a situation similar to 'Post-Pokhran'...and i think that we have had reasonable growth even under those restrictions imposed by the u.s. ...really need some rational thinkers in the House
What George has said is true our PM is dancing like a monkey to US and Sonia's tunes. The PM has sold away India to the US nuke industry.
But then George Fernandes himself is not saint. Remember when he was the Defence Minister and when he visited US, he was made to strip at the airport security ! Why didnt at that time itself he cancel his trip and came back? But no at that time NDA was licking the US and so Fernandes quietly did the strip dance! In the end it is that since UPA did the deal NDA would oppose and viceversa. In all case our politicians will remains monkeys and always remain in awe of US..

stripping is fine. rules are rules. even if you are a minister. fernandes is an honest man. after three years of inquiry by a vindictive UPA government, not a shred of evidence has been found against him. the court has reprimanded the government three days ago as to why they are continuing the investigation and case.

Question is not of admiring or criticising a person. It is a question of national pride. Deal 123 must be thought over again and any clause that is against our interest and pride must be deleted.

HV U READ THE CLAUSES, CAN U TELLME THE CLUASE WHICH SHOULD BE DELETED!

Hold your words Mahesh. It is equally bad to side with any country, whether USA, Russia, China or Gulf. We should make relations only on the basis of our own interests. George has said a truth. Don't abuse him unnecessarily.
I can very well understand the anger expressed by the treasury benches but it cannot be justified untill they establish that Mr.Fernandes is liar and the 123 deal does not contain any clause which puts India in a compromising position. I don't know if they were objecting to the unparliamentary language used by the ex defence minister. Then its a different story.
