Goa lives in the heart of tourists too
by Leeds on Dec 25, 2007 08:54 PM  Permalink

Goa is alive and kicking in the hearts and minds of the tourists. The concern echoed by Remo is a concern that exists for every state. Telling tourists to stay away doesnt solve the problem cause the problem lies within Goa itself. Are you going to feed the Goans if the tourists are told to stay away? It is easy to make big talks when you are sitting on a pile of wealth accumulated over the years. Goa is very much a part of India as any other state. Who are you to tell me to stay away?

I disagree Remo

Big deal in refusing an award. I wonder if the dude would have refused the award had the cash prize been a hefty sum. He also protests against the tourists visiting Goa saying that their "crowded" presence makes Goans build more concrete infrastructure which destroys the nature. I agree on this point but why blame the tourists. Aren't Goans themselves building concrete structures around them? Don't tourists contribute to the economy of the state? Remo, where were you when young children were being molested by phirangis? I think that is a bigger issue than the beautification of Goa.

Artists, musicians, sportspersons and such other special creations of nature play an important role in revitalising and purifying our society. Such gifted individuals need not kneel or crawl for titles and honours that come from mundane fellows jostling for the podium to distribute titles, honours and some rupees collected from poor tax payers. Those of us who long and yearn for such decorations keep on taking giant leaps in the wrong direction leading the society a few steps backward. Musician Remo's latest melody is loud and clear.

Salute to Remo .....
by Sanjay Reddy on Aug 17, 2007 07:47 PM  Permalink

Salute to Remo. Why should all talented and educated people take all this muck from these politicians who are nothing but the filth and muck of this society. Just listening to the speeches of Manmohan Singh, YSR and these politicians in general as to what they will achieve for this country on independence day made me feel ashamed of being an Indian. We indians would have been far better if not for these politicians. We have achieved whatever we have so far due to our enterprise but not an iota due to the policies of these jokers who call themselves rulers.
