We cannot have one source of energy. It has to be diversified...Wind energy is possible in all parts of India. We do not want to put all our eggs in one basket !!!

make a "left" man the prime minister and he will take the same decision. These characters make sweeping anti-progress statements and then do exactly that in the states where they are in power.

Think of our Future
by imran patel on Aug 14, 2007 06:11 PM  Permalink

My fellow countrymen, it is time to think beyond party lines. This is a matter of national security and national prosperity.

We can never have all our energy needs fullfilled by Nuclear powerplants and we should not do that. Our energy portfolio needs to be diverse. If we get 13% from Nuclear, that we a good mix. The rest can come from Coal, bio-fuels, wind, Hydro etc.

Don't forget the fact the Indian economy is growing at the rate of 8% every year. We are far behind in the manufacturing sector compared to other countries. A big reason for that is the state of our infrastructure and utility items such as electricity and water. These are essential to have a strong manufacturing economy.

50% of our agricultural produce is wasted...Yes wasted in transportation. Adequate electricity will enable better storage facilities.

Nuclear power plants are less dependent on location as oppose to some other options. Not affected by rainfall. It is a reliable source or energy and we all know how important that is.

It is important we recognize the impact of this agreement on our daily lives. India is a strong democratic country unlike our neighbours. We do not need to test more nuclear weapons. We have enough to deter any threat. It is time for us now to focus on our economic expansion. We are one 6th of the world population and our GDP is 2% of world GDP. Isn't it time that we stand up and live up to our full potential ?

Agreement 123 is the step in the right directi

RSS -Please do this

Let me see any Dalit sitting at the helm of RSS as its Supremo. Till such time RSS has no rights to talk about hindu unity and equality. RSS should also ensure that there are dalit poojaris in hindu temples instead of the Brahmin.

No one will ask about the caste in RSS. But they ensure that a low caste person won't come at the helm of their organization. This happens at backstage. The RSS has its face and mask and both are different. For example the mask is denouncign killin of Mahatma Gandhi. The real face of RSS is praising Naturam Godse

Many non RSS specially PUNJABI are very critical of Gandhi. As a politician he failed in protecting the life of million who were butured due to partition. But those who claim to be his follower only do the lip service. Why donot they lead a simple life of Gandhi? Why are they enmassing wealth? So who is having masks?

The problem with people like Aadi is that they cannot tolerate discussion. They are not habitual of living in democratic atmosphere. If they donot like some argument they start considering the person opposit to them as their enemy.

Sorry sir. I am no red /communist. But if you have noticed one thing for last 3 years, their behavior in the parliment is exemplary. Unlike BJP/Shivsena/SP, theie criticism is constructive and based on aprehension about US foreign policy in case of a Ind-Pak conflict.
Further, US was never in a position to neither CAP indian nuclear programme, nor clasify us a rogue country!! With 123 agreement they can. US is also trying to split hair about IRAN-India Gas line.
NEVER EVER BELIEVE USA

PK, you mean to say that RED were irresponsible before last 3 years. They become responsible type when they become parasites.

Left is neither a good opposition nor a responsible ruling party. When they are in power they crush opposition.

Tell me how left was justified in opposing Pokharan II/ was that not the height of irresponsible behaviour
