123 agreement
by babu on Aug 15, 2007 08:26 AM  Permalink

India is the only country in the world to which USA agreed to give nuclear cooperation without signing the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty
Experts said the USA agreed to give India advance, long-term permission to reprocess U.S.-origin nuclear material once New Delhi builds a new reprocessing facility that would only use such material.
This is happening despite the fact that the Americans "do not give consent rights to reprocess except to our closest allies, Japan and Euratom,
The 123 agreement also says that while the United States might cut off nuclear cooperation in the event of an Indian nuclear test, it will seek to ensure India continues receiving fuel from other sources.
Australia signaled Thursday it is edging toward a decision to sell uranium to India despite the refusal by New Delhi to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

N-C India US ties!!
by Guess Guess on Aug 15, 2007 03:29 AM  Permalink

I just think instead of slamming any particular individual e.e.g Sonia Gandhi or Manmohan Singh or any one for that matter. We as a democrat country must do all we can to save our country from the hands of the biggest exploiter - USA. this country does not do anything without an intention and that has to favourable for them. We need to make sure this policy does not take effect. We probably need to do a sign up and submit if we have to but can not let another country dictate to us as to what we need to do. they need to mind their own business and their country before interfering with us. They can interfere only if we let them.

N-C Indo-US ties!!!
by Guess Guess on Aug 14, 2007 11:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

My fellow Indians - Instead of spending time on Sonia Gandhi and her status, can we seriously raise our voice as one to go against this policy. It is certainly not advisable to join hands with US. US wants to be in control and we Indians (known for our brains) (we might sometimes don't use it wisely) should not fall into the hands of this exploitation. I think not just for N.C policy but for any policy this is one country one should never trust.

Lets talk some sense...

This is ridiculous...I read people talking about blowing the CPI etc, criticizing Sonia for being Italian...Guys, This is the down side of democracy and learn to live with it.

Democracy is NOT for the weak.

The best way is to marginalize the CPI by not voting for it. Lets have our priorities correct...

Lets NOT vote for condidates/parties that promise the following,
- Reservation for the SC/ST/OBC
- Reservation for Minorities
- Special privelages for religious prilgimages (Hajj/Mata Darshan)
- Past history of Bands/Strikes
- Build the Ram Temple
- Eradicate poverty
- Bomb Pakistan to stone ages
- Equal distribution of wealth
- Free health care

We all know that these are all emplty promises. The reason we have idots running this country beacuse we the voters are BIGGER idiots.

We are ready to support a strike for issues that don't make an iota of difference to our day-day life.

Support a candidate/party that
- Wants to reduce the role of government
- Believes in equal opportunity (Not reservation)
- Believes in free markets
- Has Pro-Growth financial policies
- Is in favor or reducing Taxes (Income, property capital gains, etc)
- Is fiscally responsible
- Believes in individual freedom

Unless we correct our priorities and expectations from the government, we will never make informed decisions about the candidates running for elections.
