Tata Deal
by Dimple Kaur on Aug 13, 2007 06:52 PM  Permalink

India has been blessed with the fact that the military is subordinate to the political will of the people. If not, things could have been worse here than in Pakistan. But, it is high time we got rid of this scourge of communism remnant that is still here in our country. These guys should be banned all together.

CPI opposes Tata's plant in TN
by Bodh Ramdeo on Aug 13, 2007 06:21 PM  Permalink

What filthy two-faced hypocrites these Commie scumbags are! According to them, they are against the project because the farmers will lose their land and hence their livelihood. Fine!
But tthen they go on to say 'why couldn't the Central govt take it up, rather than entrusting it to a private group'. So, they're against the proposed project soley because it's to be owned by a private corporation rather then a govt PSU.
Their hypcoracy is open to all to see - their lies about caring about the loss of farmers land is just a smokescreen to hide their true nefarios motives - to keep out private investments (read capitalists). Hypocrites!
Maybe Tata should go to Gujerat and set up shop.

TN Tata Titanium project: CPI to oppose
by Prem Mohan on Aug 13, 2007 05:50 PM  Permalink

The past century has shown us that communism/socialism can drive the people of any country destitute.

PSUs are not set up for manufacturing goods or providing services. They are meant to pay the fat salaries of indolent, inefficient and corrupt employees.

TATA's Project
by Neutral on Aug 13, 2007 05:14 PM  Permalink

I am not a supporter of leftist. But, I strongly feel that agricultural land should not be taken for industrialization. From TV Channels I see that there were many acres of fertile land taken for TATA's project. U may get Titanium dioxide, good car in cheap rate, latest mobile phones etc..But, in a long run u will not get food to eat. It will be costiler than gold.
All this is bcos of conversion of fertile land to industries. This is called as Unplanned Growth. But, with help from agriculturalist & scientist, govt should locate non fertile lands in the state & develop that region with factories, transportation etc.
Even if the TATA is setting up in non-fertile land, why should the govt get the land from poor farmers at a very cheap rate and give it to TATAs. Instead, TATAs can themselves directly get the land from farmers after paying a good money to farmers. As per CM, maximum of 5000 people will get the job. But, around 18,000 farmers loose their land & job. Even if you give jobs to these 5000 farmers, how can u expect a farmer to do a chemical engineer's job? Ultimately, this project will not do good to these farmers...

CPI opposing TATAs project in T.N.
by Shridhar Iyer on Aug 13, 2007 03:55 PM  Permalink

It has become a fashion for political parties to oppose any move to set up industries by private Cos. We have seen it in Bengal, where Mamta Banerjee is opposing strongly the car project by TATAs, and now we see CPI opposing TATAs project near Tuticorin. CPI says let the Central Govt run the project!?. Why he wants a Govt project. We all know, how efficiently Govt projects are run in this country. You give the employees the security of a Govt job, they behave irresponsibly and like an emperor. In short they want salary without any accountability/responsibility in a Govt set up. We don't want this, we want our people to work hard to earn their livelihood, and this should happen in a private set up. For any good employee, it does not matter much whether it is a Govt office or a private office.

Industries provide us employment opportunities and we should welcome it. If the people are given adequate compensation for the land acquired from them for the project, then there should not be any problem.

These politicians try to fish in troubled waters. We have seen how militant labour force, supported by Communists, have cleaned Bengal and Kerala of any INdustries. We should ensure that they do not repeat the same feat in Tamil Nadu.

With best wishes,
V.Srinivasan.
