So this will benifit India and US both..I may benifit India but what about US.I think they will find one more market as India to sell junk to...Pm says "It will benefit US also " as though Bush is begging him to sign this Deal..In the long term US is eyeing on India's thorium resources as other Nuclear fuels are depeleting fast. What about these MP who are gainst this treaty ? They are scrard that if India electricity from Nuclear energy then this will decrease dependecy on Hydro power. Then what MPs will promise in elections as there will be no further need of new Dams. Also 99% MPs do not even know what this Nuclear power is ? Poor Country and foolish(greedy) representatives
People keep saying that a vote against this treaty is a vote for china. That is bull. This treaty is deeply flawed and should not be implemented. With a cap on research, cap on fissile material and a cap on further testing; i dont think you could negotiate more away. As far as anti-china credentials of the US are concerned (wrt India), i sincerely doubt them. First of all they have a huge deficit with the chinese, with the chinese literally owning the retail sector. Secondly the chinese possess huge american currency which is a big leverage for the americans. Thirdly the americans respect the chinese more than the indians (this is inherently known in the strategic circles where the american's consider the chinese to be strong and the indians to be whiners ). IMHO the americans will not side with the chinese against the indian's due to the above reasons. All we are being used for is being tissue paper like the pakistani's are being used as by both the chinese and americans.

Kick jihadi ass huh? Where do you think the fountain-head of all things jihadi are ? Pakistan and Saudi. Last time i checked it was the US that was selling arms in the billions of dollars to those countries. Dont give me this alliance crap. The US will everything in their interests, the indian need to remember to do this also. This deal is not in our national interests.

so give me one reason why the US should do anything for India...what have we contributed to the world in terms of creativity and invention?
if you don't want it, then shut the hell up, quit your cribbing and manufacture your own. buit if you want a favor, then you better bend backwards to accommodate those who you seek favor from. otherwise it is like biting the hand which feeds ya.
Irrespective of if one supports it or not, the 123 deal has exposed a big hole in the Indian constitution. Looks like nothing can be done should the PM and the cabinet sign a treaty with a foreign power in the face of opposition by the majority of the parliament.
The left should be ashamed of its cowardice and lack of conviction.
It is good for India to keep good relationship with USA. Communist parties will always hate USA; if you want to listen to them then you have to cut off all relations with the USA. So, it is very important for India to go ahead with friendship with USA and keep the deal running. I am particularly very amazed to find that they didn't make a noise till the deal was about the signed. If India backs off, what kind of impression will she make to the outside world? I hope our PM understands that and do not back off. A deal is always a give and take, you never get 100% advantage in any deal. We need to focus on the energy issue and make sure we have enough energy to feed us in the coming years. Communist s are people who DO NOT want advancement, who LOVES and poverty and who WANTS its people to remain in POVERTY. We need to keep that in mind.
You know what is the USD Dollar value at present. It is actually less than Indian Rs 4/- but nobody wants to change this currency in foreign deal, because of its repercussions in the world economy. However, we ask the people and business houses to know the truth and shift to Euro instead of US D dealings.

Where did u get this funny figure of Rs.4/-? maybe you are referring to the currency value one of those old communist block countries :-)))
We are fortunate to have a PM with good understanding of global issues and economics. These uneducated MPS from SP, left, 3rd front should be kept in the zoo. The Indian people want to see the benefits of the deal in the coming years only if some good for nothing MP's realise that.

I need not even mention about your country but can pin point your state. Either Bengal or Kerala. Am I right or Am I right? Why should I mention about benefits to india people if i am in US? Seems like you are a educated moron.

JOOMERA, IT SHOWS HOW EDUCATED YOU ARE!!! PIN-POINT ACCURACY TO THE WRONG ANSWER. YOU SEEM TO BE ALIGNED TOWARDS THE CONGRESS. DEAL OR NO DEAL, MUCH OF THE AFFLICTIONS PLAGUED BY INDIA ARE ALL CONGRESS'S DOING. DO YOU KNOW WHAT DIRTY POLITICS CONGRESS IN HYDERABAD ARE PLAYING FOR MUSLIM VOTE BANKS OVER TASLIMA NASREEN ISSUE? I DOUBT YOU'D KNOW MUCH ABOUT THOSE THROUGH YOUR MYOPIC VIEW. BTW - DON'T ASSUME I'M A COMMIE.
Today while watching the News, the journalist were saying that the MLAs of 3rd front who were opposing to the statement when asked by the journalists about their objections, told that they don't know, their leaders know what the objections are. I am shocked to see such statements from MLAs who do not do their home work before going to the parliament. I am still trying to figure out why all the parties are opposing 123 agreement?
