This is exactly what the chinese & the Pakistanis want, to scuttle the deal. after all of this painstaking negotiation why is not the left coming up with what is wrong with this deal, they should pinpoint the disadvantages & bring the pros & cons infront of the public instead of just saying no to anything American. Let the people decide what is good us. Do they have a different idea how to provide energy for the 100 crore people & their development, then spell it out. Simply coming out with Macho statments & doing what the Chinese & Pakistanis want to do is not enough. Give us a better deal then & solve our energy problems.
Pass the constitutional amendment a. Strategic bilateral treaties esp relating to military, foreign affair alliances and nuclear along with delivery systems must be approved by 3/4th vote of the parliament or 3/4th vote of the population. If MMS feels bad so be it, he should have taken atleast the leader of the opposition in confidence.
Left will do nothing. They will just bark and finally agree to congress whatever they say. Otherwise left feels that they are siding BJP. To avoid this they will go to any extent. After all Left is nothing but the offshoot of congress with no guts to really oppose them.
Despite having over one billion population, we are always treated with much less respect than China. Even countries with miniscule population punch much above their weight in the world arena. Why?
The reasons are clear. We are disunited. We cannot agree on anything. Propose while in power and oppose the same when out of it. Can we not think of the country, even at sixty?
The left are bereft of ideas. Their comrades are marching ahead in China. They act communists, while they have no time for ideology. The survival of the fittest reigns. They hold the US by the balls, at this time of financial ruin for the latter. They already apply pressure and uncle Sam is feeling the heat and sweating. How? having 1.5 trillion dollars reserves and threatening to sell them.
It is time India knows how to get its due share. For the left, please forget the past. Poverty is no more a virtue. Create wealth first and then we can distribute.
We need nuclear energy. Clean and renewable ones. Do you have an option? Come out clearly with ideas. Can you get your chums, China to help us on this matter? Fact of the matter is, they have no time for all talk and no action.
Please think of the country and come out with clear solutions. You are representing nobody's interest by just opposing.

Mahatma Manomohan brought Human Face Globalisation. For whom?
Govt. has no interest to implement bills their own Common Minimum Progress which prepared in the pressure of the Left.
33% women reservation bill is pending. Pratibha Patil became a Women President, only because the Left wishes and work for women. Otherwise, Sonia Gandhi loyalist, Shivraj Patil might become President.
Triball Bill is pending.
Rs. 6400/- minmum wages bill is pending. But now govt. is preapring another bill there is close about the minimum wages.
In the same time, Govt. is committed to implement bills in favour of George Bush and America.
123 agreement Opened retail sector for American Giants like Wal-Mart. Opened education sector for Foreign Universities. Cleared 10,000 crores arms deal with America and Israel.
NDA was a good friend of Bush Administration at their reign. After the implementation of Globalisation, experiment of 6 years, NDA has fallen to deep well. Their 70 sitting MPs are now roaming here and there. Then next PM Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram started their reforms with 'Human Face' (truth is that there is no dog face even).
Congress' policy is also the same of their friend BJP. Now Congress faces indifferences with its own ministers and leaders; thier own alliance partners; and the Left who gives outside support to UPA.
No love lost for the Left. But, a sincere and honest Govt should have discussed issues with its allies and supporting parties (infact even with the Oposition as they too are representatives of the people) before they could finalise any such deal that is of so much importance. But did they?
Karat says that the Govt should head the message of Parliament. But, this Govt is morally so wrong that they will not. The govt will work only to the fancy of its super PM and the spin masters of the Congress will give all kinds of arguments to show that they are right.
While most of the time they say that they are here due to the will of the people, why did they not listen to the will of the people to re-elect Dr. Kalam for President? It is clear that they work for the will of the people only to the extent they agree!!!!!!!
They are playing good cop and bad cop with Congress playing the good guy and Left playing the bad guys. This has helped India in getting a lot of concessions from the US under the premise that the treaty will not get house approval.
So, as much as I hate these leftists, they should keep the pressure ON. BJP does not matter ... they could take a hike ... who cares ... I mean their candidates lost miserably for president and VP offices.

The people did not elect the President and Vice-President. These worthies were selected by Mdm Sonia Gandhi and her Communist chamchas. In fact, public opinion was in favour of the incumbent President.
As far as the BJP taking a hike is concerned, please remember that is has a sizable presence in Parliament and the States. The Leftists are in Parliament only by the blessings of Mdm Sonia Gandhi.
Having said all this, I believe the nuclear deal is beneficial for India just because it is opposed by the Loony Left!
india and indian sceintific couminity have sufficeint knowledge and will power do go with their own agend. then why this primemister want to sell india against biggest terrorist of word. who has killed more no of peoples since world war two, then all the nation may have killed togather. indian scientific comunity is ready to take any challang, as was the case with cryogenic engine during 1993s. so why to salute usa

Correct! Given the time and resources, our scientists and engineers can make everything, including the light combat aircraft, the main battle tank and cruise missiles.

OK next 100 years given to Indian scientists and engineers. But any one among us will not be alive to see light and prosperity in all villages.

Correct again! Let us take the example of HAL. Whenever the Indian Air Force imports any new aircraft, technology is "transferred" to HAL. By now, HAL has technology coming out of its ears. Yet we do not see any worthwhile acheivement.
Russia (in the weapons field) and Japan (in the industrial field) were adept at adapting and copying Western technology. We can also do it, provided we get rid of the indolent PSU mentality.

Here the issue is raw material. We do not have nuclear fuel reserves.US is having and they are selling ,by utilising that we can improve our power capacity.Without resolving our power problems we should not become super power..that is for sure..What is your answer for indian power problems..What is the loss if we buy it from US..? Think practically and like China communists and not like Indian communists??Why still there is so much poverty?

Look at the amount of Thorium reserves in the 'WORLD'. Look at India's share of it. Look at how useful Thorium could prove to be in the very near future. http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf53.html
Alright, next look at US Laws - try to understand Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act and take it into consideration with the Hyde Act. http://thomas.loc.gov/ Search for Hyde act with Section 123 of Atomic Energy act of 1954. If you still see this deal as a 'Power or Energy' deal - I have NO WORDS to help you understand. Manmohan first opened India's 'economy' - now we've got a billion people working as 'slaves' (jz that they're in Airconditioned offices making money in Dollars). If the US Industry Association were to decide they dont want to have Indian workers, where is our 'source' of money? If the US Govt puts laws hiking tax rates for companies employing Indian workers or importing from India, how many companies would still employ Indians? By 'opening' India's economy, Manmohan has already created a huge slave population - now he is out n out to make India a complete slave country to the US. Kudos to the Indian Congress Party - one needs to find out how much money they're making on this deal - we still remember the Bofors & the Oil-for-food scams, this will definitely surpass all previous records set.
