It is not appropriate to close your eyes and comment on any structure (including Army) when we have example of soldiers smearing tomato catch-up to fake blood stains.
At the same time I am not disregarding loyal service by our Jawans. Their service is in-compensable. However, we are the tax-payers; we have every right to question misuse of our money.

And pls elaborate ..... how this has been a "misuse" of taxpayers funds....the fire could have been caused by accident / or by islamic terrorist vermin.....I am extremely happy to see you passion as an indian to question..and i respect that but have to state that the passion is a lil misguided....instead of the army you must question and act on the GOVT utter disdane and public misuse of " OUR MONEY ".....leave the army out of it.....Once you have faced what they & their families undergo you would not dare comment on them being corrupt as corruption is biggotry & betrayal against the very motherland that these men fight for....and they would rather die than even think of betraying their mortherland and right to freedom....

Kshitij,
How many accidents can happen of one kind, and casualty can be of similar kind ?? If I'm not mistaken, two of our reserves in previous instances have been turned ashes and the cause is reported to be 'accident'
Why not believe that the arms smuggled to militants and in order to adjust the difference in stock set it ablaze and name it as 'accident' ?? Is the authority not capable of taking precautions for accidents especially when they have happened in the past ???
Moreover, there is a militant outfit claimed responsibility to the incident whereas the authority claims this as 'accident'. Which of the two claims would you believe ??
It is sad to see the nation's ammunition reserve is being devastated. It coule be a Terror activity or negligence. The ammunition reserved for the protection of our country is burned for nothing emitting enormous amount smoke polluting the environment as well as danger to the inhabitants of the vicinity.
After all, it is the taxpayers' money that will be induced to build another store and fill it with sufficient weaponry again.

....and how are they to acquire arms/amunition in need i.e. a fight erpts on the border ???
Storing is alright but there should have been proper arrangement and study in-case of fire at one end, how will they prevent it from spreading to other units.
At the same time; foul play cannot be ruled out. i.e. may be smuggled part of the armory to millitants and set fire in order to hide the theft ??

What a silly reaction. Did the army deliberately cause it so that some of them could die? Its an accident.
