the irresponsible parent are the first one to be blamed. but i dont know wheather a temporary stay is legal if so it should have been used in this case although you cannot blame official just because they went by the book.
Its good that the Official follows rules. If they start becoming relaxed and this incident turns out to be a human trafficking, everyone would be quick to blame the Officers.
Why Americans believe that they should get special previleges everywhere?
If instead of a 12yr old girl it would have a been a 25 yr Muslim guy, would all the people who are outraged over this incident feel the same way. Probably not. Rules should apply uniformly to everyone. Just because some "Big" criminals go scout free doesn't mean that everywhere else the rules should also be broken. The immigration officials at Kolkata have done their duty. They should be congratulated for that. India is not a banana republic. Advice for the mother next time she travels, check your documents before you travel half way round the world.

Guess what... The "stupid communists" and the so called "leaders" of bengal are mostly Bangladeshis! So, no hope expecting anything on this front.

If millions of Bangladesis are coming to India, then why Bangladesh is still not empty?
Just cause there are problem in certain areas, we don't have to be lazy in every area.
Airport Immigration is a different beast then border security. Border security gurkha who might be earning a meager Rs2000/- will take Rs500/- to allow anyone cross the border.
So the solution is to give better pay to Border Security. But then why should a border state like Bengal bear all the cost.
Will you staying somewhere in Bombay/Delhi will pay a Border Security tax? No, if any government proposes such, u would be the first one to start crying.

Mr Rathi, Your analogy is not correct. India also protested when Dr Haneef was arrested in Australia. Dr Samar Guha, a teacher and a well known authorirty on Netaji Subhash, was a highly respected figure in Bengal. Generations of students in Bengal read his books on Physics. While you have the right to appalaud the action, I feel quite sad because a grandchild of Dr Guha perhaps deserved a better treatment in Calcutta. Kind regards

Mr Singh, If an exception can be made for a Srilankan Minister, you may bend a little for child whose family has impeccable credentials .Nothing can be more ridiculous than presuming that she could be a threat to India's security. Kind regards,

Article 3 1. In all actions concerning children, whether undertaken by public or private social welfare institutions, courts of law, administrative authorities or legislative bodies, the best interests of the child shall be a primary consideration. [The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child ]
I agree with Immigration person did. Is american immigration will allow to enter the country without proper visa, with similar reason? If yes then we can do that. Everyone should be considered same as others.
A simple question to all those guys supporting the immigragion officials: in2006, SriLankan Education Minister Mr.Mustafa landed at Cochin airport without his old passport having Indian visa; he was allowed by our immigration officials after he paid money for temporary visa. This 12yrs old kid also in the same situation; then, the same temporary visa was not given to this 12yrs old and that too this kid is a Indian origin? If all these immigration officials are strictly following the laws/rules, then, how come so many ISI agents and criminals are being entered into India freely and creating all kinds of problems? may be, immigration officials will be very strict to common/ordinary passengers but they can be very flexible to politicians and other criminals, isnt? Can somebody could answer this, guys?

Because Sri Lanka would allow an indian in the similar situation. America would not. It's always quid pro quo in international diplomacy.
no issue on rules are for everybody, fine sirs, BUT WHY BIG CRIMINALS GO SCOTFREE? it is said, that in kolkata alone, more than 100 bangladeshi criminals are hiding! and the areas are also known to the police. some of them even got ration cards, pan cards etc etc. law shud be tempered with common sense

Who told you that LAWS/RULES ARE SAME FOR EVERYBODY IN INDIA? It's our foolishness to think that all the laws/rules are same for all. NO, NOT AT ALL. GOVERNMENT OF INDIA'S LAWS AND RULES are very very very strict to common/poor citizens like you and me; but the same LAWS AND RULES are so flexibile and adjustable for all those Politicians, Industrialist, millionaires, billionaires. If LAWS/RULES ARE SAME FOR ALL, then, how could a person with so many criminal charges be elected as PRESDIENT of the country?
Well, if George Fernandez when he was the Union Defence Minister representing the Republic of India can be strip searched on landing in the USA, why shouldn't a US citizen without valid travel documents be deported? Laws of immigration are for everyone to ensure national security and risks. I dont see anything wrong with what the authorities have done.

I accept. Rule is a rule is a rule. Even if we travel by train we check the tickets so many times before leaving home. A frequent traveller with a foreign passport did not check visa availability. Who is to be blamed?
what do these guys think of themselves...they think they can bend the rules just because it is INDIA. Do they think its possible to enter USA without a VISA...
12 yr old girl is considered threat to the country and all the wanted criminals are given a free entry in india, its very amusing, brainless characters. Or being the daugther of a politician ,then the airport officials are right in their action, because politicians can go to any extent. All politicians are ruthless and shameless creatures except a few
