Hamid Ansari is the most qualified of the three canidates.
by faiz ahmad khan on Aug 10, 2007 12:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hamid Ansari is the most qualified of the three canidates. He is a senior IFS officer & his position is the strongest. He has got various honors for his good work.
NDA candidate Najama is from political background. Politicians should not be allowed to contest these elections.

There is no doubt that Mr. Hamid Ansari is a learned and qualified person. But you should be aware of the fact that he is not chosen because of his qualifications or learning. He was chosen just because he comes from Muslim community. In fact all the three candidates are chosen because of this %u2018qualification%u2019 only. The politicians will now go to the Muslims and ask their votes in the name of installing a person from their community at the post of VP.

I am not against Mr. Hamid Ansari or Muslims. But I am totally against the fact that he is chosen just to vow Muslims. I am against division of society in the name of caste or religion. I am against the caste politics at the higher levels of President and Vice President.

For whatever reasons he was chosen why did the others parties follow the suit??? Even if his selection wasnt malafide it appears to be now as the NDA thought of showing itself secular by selecting Najma Heptulla. Atleast he is far better than the politician candidate of NDA. Even the presidential candidature of Mrs XYZ wasnt justified. She isnt that capable person or a person with acheivements like Mr Kalam. How you rate that?? Atleast there would be one qualified & learned person at the top.

That's what I am saying. I just want a person with a persona, qualification and capability at these highest posts. Not a person just because of he/ she belongs to a certain community or gender.

And I never said that Mrs. Patil was a right candidate for presidential election. But again she made it just because of caste/ gender polity. There were a lot of people in Congress and Left parties who were against her still they voted for her because of Mrs. Gandhi.

Once more, I would like to reiterate that I am not against any community. I just oppose the manner in which these politicians play gender/ caste politics at any level.

What communal? If a party thinks for Hindu people it becomes communal and a party which only thinks for Muslims is secular?

Ask yourself... Why these politicians do not spare the highest posts of President and Vice President from their caste polity?

Ok... If they want install a person from minority community at the highest post, why they do not look up to candidates other than Muslims? Why not Christians, who are the real minority? Why not Buddhists, Sikhs or a person from SC/ST Community? Why always Muslims in the name of minority and secularism?

I am not against Muslims. But I totally oppose the division of Indian community in the name of caste and religion just for vote banks. The Muslims and people of other minority communities must realize that they are just vote banks for these politicians. Nothing else. It is not a slap on so called communal forces. It is a slap on every Indian who wants equality in every field.

Vice President is the second C-in-C of the Armed Forces. I wonder whether he/she will improve the exploitation of our forces by their officers, whoever got elected.
